Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

There could be changes under the hood we can’t see.

Also maybe they used all their budget and couldn’t actually design a new ship idk

The Sombra class variant also seemed like it's Warp Nacelle Pylons were different shaped as well compared to the constitution.

The Saucer Section shape seemed slightly different than the Constitution class that we see in SNW.

Closer to the original Connie, but that could be my perception from the screen shots.

The Nimitz and Ford class carriers are hard to tell apart from the outside, and definitely have many different internal systems, but are different classes.

With NCC-1549 for the Peregrine, the Sombra class is likely an earlier variety.

Rewatched the scene of her being towed, the saucer windows are spread out more and lacks the forward lounge, the bridge window was also bigger, more like how the enterprise bridge window looked in Discovery. It also seemed to have a blue trim around the saucer edge, and all the red on the bridge set was swapped out with blue

Even the stripes on the secondary hull are blue.

Maybe the Somba-class is more of a science vessel. Despite its similar appearance to the Constitution-class, it could have totally different specifications (smaller crew complement, different top speed & weapons, etc.). The only reason I suggest this is because of the Miranda- and Soyuz-classes. From a distance, they look almost identical--as if one could be just a variant of the other--but they could otherwise have different capability specs, IMO.

For anyone interested, Eaglemoss looks to have the SNW Enterprise on sale for $13.75 (US).

Maybe it's because I'n a first time user of their site, but there was an additional roughly $3 discount at checkout, taking the price down to $11. With shipping and tax it's a couple pennies under $18 total. (!!)

I'm not the biggest fan of this design, but for that price I can't argue.

After shipping, I paid roughly $60 for it, when it came out.

It is a great model and a really good deal.

I'm a repeat customer, and I got the $3 discount for both the Discovery and the Kerala, so they were both $11 too.

BLUE STRIPES?!?!?!? That's almost as un-"teh canon" as blue nacelle caps!

Nice screencaps tho.

Bahahaa! The Somba Class is probably a smaller version of the Constitution Class. It's dimensions are probably as follows....Length 289 meters, Width 127.1 meters, Height 72.6 meters... Sound familiar there fellow Starship freaks???

Perhaps not much smaller in size but most likely much less capable as a Science specific ship.

The Enterprise is a top-of-the-line Exploration vessel at this point in time and has greater capabilities in comparison.
