Still plodding through Far Cry 6 and really my opinion hasn't changed, yes it has become a little more fun but on the whole the single player portion of the game is a somewhat shitty experience. The story is bollocks but the combat and touring around the map is fun, I'll give it that. That part of the game is loads of fun, but on the whole it's a shitty game. 6/10
I was so excited for Far Cry 6. I've played 3-5, Primal and New Dawn. Loved every minute of it. I was excited to play a Far Cry where Giancarlo Esposito/Gus Fring/Moff Gideon/Edgar Stanley was the bad guy. But I COULD NOT get into it. The version I was playing was glitchy as hell. I couldn't even clear out and outpost without it respawning while I was still inside. I'd blow up a Jeep full of reinforcements and they would literally reappear the second the first jeep exploded. I hate the way the skill tree isn't really a skill tree, but you upgrade your skills based on the weapons you're using. I put it down not even three hours into it. I suppose it could also be Ubisoft fatigue. Over the course of the pandemic, I played 120+ hours of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, 40+ of Far Cry New Dawn, and 150+ of Assassin's Creed Valhalla
The respawning had become an issue and I think it's been addressed in the latest patch. Doesn't happen as often and you have to move away a fair distance before they respawn. Of all the Far Cry games I had the most fun with 1, 4, and New Dawn. To tell the truth they were the only ones in the series I bothered with.
Oh hey Minecraft TARDIS..... Very cool I finished Far Cry 6. After 56 hours of gameplay. Well that was nice. OK as is usual with Far Cry games the hero steps into a bad situation fixes things and then at the end the region is messed up for good. In this case a brutal insurgency that will go on for decades. Clara had no plan at all with what to do after getting rid of Castillo... As for him he was a coward and a monster.... My next act after finishing the game was to uninstall it. Installed Assassin's Creed Unity as it's the one that was given away for free when they had that huge fire in France. at Notre Damme. Let's see how much fun I get with this one. I've seen videos and it looks good and I've never heard bad things about it so I'm game to try it out. Also started Alien Isolation.
Unity is an odd Assassin's Creed game for me. It's sandwiched between Black Flag (which I really liked) and Syndicate (which I LOVED and has my second favorite Assassin Evie in it). Looking back, it's not bad (especially since all the bugs got fixed). It's just kinda forgettable sandwiched between Black Flag and Syndicate. I do remember the online multiplayer being pretty fun, though
At the moment anything that will wash the bad taste left by Far Cry 6.......... I just finished it because I didn't want to leave it unfinished. Just finished the main story and captured all the bases. AC Syndicate is fun and Evie Frye is awesome
Assassin's creed Origins......this game is so detailed in Egyptian lore that i feel i could now teach Egyptian history after playing it. Lol
You should try the tour mode... That is a guided or free run tour of everything in the game full of historical stuff. It's part of the game or can be had as a stand alone download.
So I'm about 70% done with Forbidden West. I've caught up on all the side missions and melee pits before heading to Ted Faro's tomb. I also noticed there was a Hunting Ground I haven't done. The first two tasks weren't easy, but they were manageable. Then, came the goddamned Heavy Weapon Trial. I've never been so pissed at a video game. Not only do you have to shoot a weapon off a frigging Tremortusk, you also have to use said weapon (which shoots VERY slowly) to kill three Clawstriders (which zip around the map like the Flash), all while avoiding the Tremortusk, which can charge across the screen and land on top of you, as well as having elemental effects). I died probably about twenty times, then had to rage quit after I started punching my DualSense controller It's been a LONG time since a game's pissed me off this bad. I think the last controller I broke from throwing was a PlayStation 2 DualShock 2. I'm going to try the challenge again tonight, maybe with a different tactic. But, if I don't get it tonight, I'm just going to move on to old Teddy's tomb.
Yeah that trial was a total pain in the ass... what were they thinking. I had to lower the difficulty to get it done.
I played that in VR on the Rift CV1 and it took me 4 hours to complete the first mission, as i could not force myself to come out of hiding with every noise or vent bang.......vr most certainly ramped the immersion and atmosphere about 1000%. Lol
So I'd completely forgotten smoke bombs were a thing. I played the Heavy Weapons Trial once last night, spammed the fuck out of the smoke bombs and the whole trial ended up being super easy. Barely an inconvenience
