I have a hard time taking seriously, as a villain, a guy in a varsity jacket.

30th (XS was in the Legion of Super Heroes), but otherwise correct.

The Silver Age Flash 30th Century was a bit different than the Silver Age LSH 30th Century. Then again there were competing version of Atlantis too.

    LOL

You deserve some type of reward for that reply!

Seriously I think the actor playing Deon has been much better this whole season than last year. Everything with the show is better this season.

I love Tom Cavanagh! He is undeniably the best villain in the Arrowverse. I never expected him to have such a constant presence once he stopped being a regular cast member. He repeatedly says in interviews that the writers see RF as the Flash’s Joker, ultimate archenemy. But it rare to see a villain reoccurring this much outside of the comics or animation.

Trailer for season finale. I am always game for a rematch between Flash and Reverse Flash. Looks like it might be a really epic episode with a lot going on.

    Related to next season
it’s already been announced that Candice Patton has signed a contract to return for next season as Iris. Likely done awhile ago but held off to the season finale. Surprised it is in industry press day before it even airs. Not a real surprise. I certainly am as curious as anyone if there is a hidden reason for her limited appearances this season. But it’s possible it’s a very personal reason she does not wish to share.

So now we know. When The Flash ends the Arrowverse ends with it. I hope they factor that into their decision making when writing Season 9.

Amanda tapping signed up for season 11 of Stargate that never happened.

They took that commitment and offered her a season of Stargate Atlantis.

Candis could end up on Superman and Lois as a completely different character.

Isn't it about time he knocked up Iris? Nora should be around already.
It was okay but it was a bit silly in some places. It was very Lantern like with them combining powers.
So we have got another Frost. It will be interesting to see her look.

I liked the visual effects, but I did get a Captain Planet vibe watching this episode. By the Powers Combined... It seems like these finales have to go bigger when all I want is Flash vs. Reverse Flash minus the chaotic-ness. All this stuff about negative speed forces and positive forces and gods and Iris recrystalizing just seems so convoluted for it's own good. Also, I feel like they could have told this story maybe in 3 episodes since they got back from Armageddon. Armageddon was so long ago that while I appreciate the flashbacks, I don't remember everything about that arc. I feel like a lot of the second half of the season was full of bloat.

In terms of the cameo talk, I was expecting Cisco. I still want another episode with Cisco, but considering my feelings on the overall show, maybe it's time to call it quits. The story seems done already. 7 years of my adult life has been spent watching this show. It's now approaching Dr. Who Territory of if the show doesn't end soon, I may need to quit it.

His speed sperm would instantly over shoot the egg, but having no invulnerability They'd smash against something solid eventually and lose viability.

I'm imagining Beast Boys multi-sperm transmogrifying into 90 billion tiny squirrels, looking for a nut, if he ever did pop his cherry.

Did I miss something? Why was there "Superman created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster" in the end credits?

Nora as we know her who is not the same Nora we first met, that girl is gone, is a quantum probability of Nora that will continue to exist for only so long as the probability of her existence is greater than zero.

At the moment the first Allen-West child is conceived, and it is not Nora, then her probability of being born drops to zero and her timeline collapses. Or her presence in the time line is extracted, and time folds around the vacuum created by her lack of existence... Which is how time travel works in legends, and how we can have Bart without Nora who suddenly has just hours left, to yell at his parents for having sex wrong, before his memories of Nora wiped and replaced with new memories of the replacement child, until a few years later when Bart's probability of being born drops to zero too.

Most likely because when the episode was in production they did not know yet if this was the final episode of the series. Legends credited the creators of every DC character who ever appeared during its whole run. The difference is Legends was cancelled and The Flash was renewed.

Meh. I know the Speed Force has always been scifi fantasy but I feel like this finale went overboard with too much silliness. And it seemed to rely on outright mysticism to hand waive the plot forward. For example, Iris is used as an incubator for the negative forces and her body is destroyed but she does not die. Instead her consciousness is somehow pulled into the Time Stone. How? Well, Damien Dhark just says it is because she is a "survivor". That's it. Then Damien Dhark says that Iris needs to "ignite the spark" to leave the Time Stone and come back to physical form. How does Iris do this? Well, according to what she says to Barry, she basically just wills it because Barry is her "lightening rod". And then we have Cecile who uses her extra powers that Bashir gave her to do a seance and bring Bashir back who then conjures up a magical mask to transfer the powers back to Bashir so he can bring the other Positive Forces back. And how does Barry save the day? Well, he goes into some sort of meditative trance to tap into the Positive Forces and reverse time and just cause Reverse Flash to disappear. And the whole idea of positive and negative forces that need to be in balance is way too Star Wars.

I also feel like they rushed the ending. Other than Iris' time sickness, the writers basically crammed the entire scheme of the Negative Forces, the explanation for why they were doing, and the resolution into the two part finale. And Frost's plot is basically a post credit scene.

The good thing is that the Reverse Flash arc seems to be definitely over now. They say this was the last Thawn and that the Negative Forces will find a new avatar.

Not a bad finale. I love the idea of the hero saving the day by not fighting, by just sitting and meditating and bringing peace. It's very Buddhist, or something like that. Although I'm a bit unclear on just what he actually did. I guess he used the Forces to reverse time?

I was afraid that Cecille giving her powers to Bashir would mean she lost her telepathy, but instead she's leveled up to telekinesis. I hope that means she's a more active member of Team Flash next season, and that she finally gets a proper costume and code name, along with Allegra. Cecile does seem to have adopted a semi-costume these last few episodes, with the black outfit and the slicked-back hair and the "V" necklace, which seems like it's supposed to stand for something, though I can't think what.

Conversely, I think Tom Cavanaugh's gotten a bit too old to look good in a supersuit. In the scenes where he was supposedly rampaging through the city, it looked like he could hardly move in that heavy rubber outfit. Maybe something simpler like Jay Garrick's jacket and helmet would be a better look for him.

That's not correct; The Flash was renewed for season 9 in March, and season 8 wrapped production in late April. So at the time this was shot -- and certainly by the time the end credits were put together, which would've been much more recent -- they certainly knew they'd been renewed. Legends wasn't cancelled until after its finale aired.

My best guess is that the credit is there because Tinya Wazzo was in the episode. She's based on Phantom Girl from the Legion of Super Heroes, which first appeared in Action Comics, a Superman book. Phantom Girl was created by Jerry Siegel & Jim Mooney, not Shuster, but it could be that the whole Legion falls under the Superman rights.
