Exactly. DC Fontana is the source as she was a writer as well as story editor on TOS. Yeah she didn't write Amok Time but I'm sure she edited it or at least looked at it. Pon Farr is ancient and embarrassing to Vulcans. Definitely a hold over to ancient times and it's just on their biology. They need to mate in 7 year increments or die. That doesn't mean that can't mate other times. Some people probably don't like the idea of vulcans having see but they do. The good news is though Vulcan sex seems boring. Tpring looked like she was reading a newspaper. Lol. So boring Vulcan sex should satisfy people that are worried they are too emotional because of sex.

exactly. 2 out of >6 vulcan characters shown in snw had sex, kissed, cuddled. also 2 out of these 2 were in the openly explained circumstance that 1 wanted to explore human sexuality because the other is half human. or do you disagree with any of these presented facts?
if you read all the words in the rebuttals, and all the words in the question posed, you see why they did not. words like "canonical", or "general", for example.
you may say that the authors who wrote Sarek and Fusion (and all the pon farr episodes) wrote "stupid bullshit", but that does not make it so.
anyone who objectively and logically looks at canonical facts as presented in the shows and the speculations and personal opinions voiced here, will know what is canon, and what is fanon or people's personal headcanon. there is an obvious difference between those, and only one is official.

Cloud minder girl was a Nazi. Very nice to look at, but the more she talks about how the master race holds a leash to the lower species, the less you want to look at her.

Second episode in a row that I actually found interesting and even somewhat thought-provoking.
No overly excessive CGI, forced drama, virtue signaling etc., just a normal episode focused on character interaction/development and storyline.
Kinda reminded me on old TNG/DS9 episodes. I really hope SNW continues this direction. If they do, we will have at the very least, a solid-quality Trek on our hands.

Anything from a writer, producer or anyone behind the scenes is considered Word of God which is automatically canonical by default.
Though at this point I'm quite certain you're just hating on the idea of Spock and T'Pring having sex outside of ponn farr just because it's from one of the new shows, which can do nothing right in your view.
Indeed, and the end of The Enterprise Incident certainly implies they had sex. Indeed, some fanon sources even go so far as to say Saavik is their daughter conceived from that encounter.
not really. Plenty of stuff from Roddenberry and others that are contradicted by canon evidence.
Roddenberry insisted that all of TFF and elements of TUC were non-canon and he didn't approve of them but by that point nobody cared about his creative opinions or very few bothered. There comes a point when even the creator of something just needs to back off, especially if they're no longer in day-to-day control of their creation. That's sort of how art works.
I watched this one a second time to catch what I missed.
1) I still don't quite grasp the "go with your gut scene." Angel didn't influence Spock's decision on which target to shoot at, so they were taking a huge risk if shooting the wrong one would lead to "boom." Seemed like too much a risk for someone who seemed to have everything well planned.
2) Chapel held up her hypo at Spock and Angel when they both ran in. As if she could spray them from 15 feet away. God, she's so fun.
3) Finally caught the two (?) times gender was made specific. But the "they" were done so subtly and quickly - both by Spock - that it's easy to miss if it's not on your mind. The first time I had to back it up because my brain thought Spock was talking about multiple people, but he was referring to Dr. Aspen and then Captain Angel (making both people gender fluid). Just a drop in the dialog, making it as everyday as he or she. That's awesome. And the dialog about identity was spot on. Sometimes I gotta pay attention. Damn you, Star Trek.
4) I still feel the "Captain Angel" portion by Jesse James Keitel was still overdone, but they were fun.
5) Peck is still too robotic. Really comes off more like an android - or Tuvok.
My only regret that all of this could have been wrapped up in a better episode. It's still a 6 for me because the whole "good food + Klingons = Mutiny" plot was a cheesy way out of their situation. The takeover was exciting and Angel as Apen was a great character.
NOTE: am I the only one who sits through the entire main credits every episode merely because it's so beautifully done? It rivals Voyager's credits for sheer scope and loveliness.

No, Kirk intended to seduce her but she was racist and only into a Vulcan/Romulan.
I'm not saying they were nice people, just that Spock could do the deed and was interested in it.
I find them pretty awful.

Tpol had sex more than once every 7 years with Trip. It was in STE and its considered canon so yeah looks like you lose the argument here.
