What games are you playing currently?

Started New Game+ for Horizon Forbidden West (ultra hard). Guerrilla Games overshot my expectations in their performance mode fix - went from a shimmery & oversaturated fuzz to looking as sharp as Ghost of Tsushima. Best looking game on the PS5 (that I've seen).

Messing around with Star Trek Online on the Series X and S. Lots of potential, but so janky that it is a chore to play.

MGSV
Hades
Backbone
Moreso the first two games, the third one is one I keep in the back pocket when I need a break from the others.

More Far Cry 6
As shit as the game is it's fun to just cruise around killing da government troops. Occasionally do a mission or two to advance the story which is also shit but hey it's Ubisoft

I talked my partner out of getting FC6 at release. Sounds like it was the right call.

Elden Ring is tempting me. Never played a From Software game. Sounds like the game has a few technical issues on the PS5 ... much as I'd love to have a go I might just wait till a cheaper copy pops up.

Still cruising around the Forbidden West with Aloy.

Even the Horizon sequel has flaws, the story isn't as good as the first game, too much side content, to pad out short story and really that's all I wish to say.

Upon reflection Far Cry 6 isn't bad it's just lumbered with a kind of shit story and characters that are not at all remarkable or memorable. Dani Rojas is just as memorable as a block of wood.

I'm still working on Horizon Forbidden West.

I saw I can upgrade my PS Plus to the higher tier for like $20 for the next six months. I'm tempted to do so and try out Demon's Souls.

PS Plus is good if it's something you would use a lot but as I'm not on playstation a lot it's really no worth it for me as don't really splurge on games that much.

I'd mostly use it for older games like the inFamous series or Syphon Filter. It's appealing to me also because I'd hate to spend $70 on Demon's Souls and rage quit/break my controller :)

TMNT Shredder's Revenge came out yesterday, and I promptly bought it because I knew some of my friends wanted to get in on the action and had been talking about it for months. It's a great retro beat-em-up, with the added ability to play online up to 6 people. It's fun seeing all the chaos happen on the screen when you have others playing with you.

I've also been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance, and I'm enjoying it a lot. When this game grips you, it takes you for quite a ride. I find the writing, characters and story to all be very good. It's frankly a very immersive game, even if a little janky at times. But I love it, warts and all.

I wanted to enjoy Saints Row 4 again but its banned here in Australia if you buy it from GOG
So is that censorship? I mean I used to have it on steam when I had steam.

GOG can't sell it here as it's apparently banned still

I'm thinking of installing Medieval: Total War for a new campaign. First time I played it I thought I had created a super army of thousands of units but I didn't realise armies full of peasants are not very effective and they were all killed in the first few battles. After that I realised I had to recruit stronger units and have the war chest to feed them and deal with other surprises so I started grinding and gradually taking control of all the oceans so I could make money from foreign territories and create armies of Longbowmen and Billmen. Then Knights Templar so I was able to take enough territory to complete the long game but every turn was relying on vast amounts of profit to feed the huge armies and when I got a blockade in one section cutting off all the trade routes I had built up in the Far East and the income dropped to almost nothing it was like starting all over again. I liked how I could take my time to decide on strategy each move and build up settlements.

I tried Medieval 2 but my PC couldn't handle it and it would lag when I zoomed in. Looked amazing though. I love games where you learn something like geography and history.

Zelda Skyward Sword for my Nintendo Switch Lite
Star Wars Knights of Old Republic 1
Kingdom Hearts III
