What games are you playing currently?

I've been playing a lot of Ultimate Chicken Horse online recently. Fun way to waste an hour or so.

Dipping in between Horizon Zero Dawn one last time before I delete it / Gamedec - suprisingly fun / Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Has anyone tried out the Atari VCS? Forgot it had come out already so I looked it up and holy cow, $400 for the console and two controllers at Best Buy!

Had started Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on GOG (having replayed DX itself for the zillionth time, then Revision), but my video card conked out on the weekend and the spare / old one I had runs MD like a drugged snail. Not a great time to be looking for a new graphics card, but needs must. Especially now there's a remotely decent chance there may be a new Deus Ex game on the horizon (one can but hope).

If you don't mind 1080p gaming there are low cost alternatives. I have been using the AMD 6500 xt with zero problems for 1080p gaming and Mankind Divided runs quite well with this and a Ryzen 5600g. Yes there is an issue about codecs but if you are not doing things like heavy video encoding or specialized things this will work reasonably well for the short term but I love 1080 everything so I'm as happy as a fish in water.

Non RTX Geforce cards should be easy enough to find...
Personally i'm running a 1660 Super and it runs Deus Ex like a dream...

I'm fine with 1080 gaming so my current card is adequate for that most of the time.

Still need to plan on a new processor at some point though:(

1080 is fine for me, too, but it's a tossup between grabbing something for the here and now or attempting to future-proof a bit. Whichever way I go, prices are just absurd at the moment and I don't game enough to be able to justify some of the price tags I'm seeing. The fact I'm in Australia doesn't help - everything is more expensive here (for no other reason that it's Australia), and now that our dollar is going down the drain again it'll get even worse. Still, it this is the biggest problem I have to deal with in life I'll take it.

All nice and well IF you have PCIE4 you lose 14% on average and in some games 35% of performance if you use it on PCIE3 because it is a laptop GPU which is tied to only a meager 4X bus, if you don't have PCIE4 then avoid the 6500/6400 series like the plague.
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-radeon-rx-6400-pci-express-30-scaling/31.html <-- PCIE3 scaling results for the 6400 which is already slower than the 6500XT so with the faster card the performance penalties will be even worse.
For 1080 the older GTX 2060 cards would already be a lot better, also they come with 6GB VRAM or more also the RTX 6600 non X would be a good option, it in any case has double the VRAM of the 6500XT.

I have PCIE 4 so maybe that's why I didn't notice any slump Plus I can remove the gpu altogether if I so choose and use the cpu alone but that doesn't work as well and to be honest as it is now is just where I want things to be.

My intel Nuc blew up, Just a week out of warranty period stinky smell and char on the circuit board near the power connector

Been playing the original Risen. I've never played it before, so it's entirely new to me, and being quite an older game, the game looks rather gorgeous when you turn up everything via the graphics card panel.

Over the last week or so I've been playing Halo CE (from the Master Chief Collection) on the Series X and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure (man that's a mouthful) on the PS5. :D

Finished The Last of Us Remastered about a month back and just finished The Last of Us Part II. Phew.

Partner bought a second-hand copy of TLOU as a fill-in before we found our next big game to play. Little did I know it would effortlessly push it's way to the top of my all-time fav list. Part II sits alongside the original at the top - a beautiful, complex, brutal, overwhelming and immersive experience. I've never had a game get into my head quite like that and put me through the emotional wringer to anywhere near that degree.

At the moment I'm playing Borderlands 2, the Captain Scarlett DLC, I love the way it look, sand pirates FTW! :mallory:

Yay pirates, fun isn't it?

EDIT: I am doing one last run of Horizon Zero Dawn after doing Forbidden West and I am trying some choices I never ever did before and I had no idea Aloy could kill
Olin
and while I chose this option I honestly did think they'd have her have a very last minute change of heart and spare him at the very last second. Doing this made her seem very cold and wow..... I yelled Bitch at the TV after.

Breath of the Wild. The long rainstorms are infuriating when you need to climb up the side of a cliff or carry a burning torch around, and you aren't near a spot where you can just go to sleep and fast forward to when it's over.

I caught the last of the subroutines, DEMETER, out in California. Wasn't a huge fan of the Dreadwing, though :(

So far, my favorite part of Forbidden West was the sequence looking for POSEIDON in Las Vegas. Just an overall wonderful experience with a beautiful payoff when the lights turned back on at the end :)

Oh, the rainstorms in Hyrule are worse than in Southeast Kentucky when trying to mow your overgrown yard
