Except that at one point in ST5 Spock says that he and Sybok were "raised together".
It could have been only the school years, before Michael was taken in, we don't know how long they were together before his "defiant" attitude emerged, and he found himself being taken away.

There is an interesting story to be told there I think.

I'm gonna bet that Michael will turn out to be the first person he ever used his happy mojo on because she was crying all the time.

Conversely he learned the happy mojo after his original schtick lead to Micheal always crying and he was unable to reverse it?

Why don't ALL OF YOU give it a fucking rest? Especially the moderators who ought to be above this shit, not prolonging it, instigating it, and contributing further to derailing the thread? Take it to PM's, for crissake!
You're a little late, we moved on several posts ago. Also, you're saying that while quoting one of the actual moderators of this forum giving a formal mod admonition, unlike myself and Possum who are just posters in this forum. And it's not really derailing if the discussion stems from events or characters featured in the episode, and we didn't instigate a thing.

Wow, what is up with Jammer these days, giving incredibly low scores for SNW episodes three weeks in a row.......? I didn't really love this episode, but 1 and a half star......?

Grumph! One day I take off...

Anyhow, Oso Blanco, you will have a formal warning for trolling later tomorrow when I'm awake enough (and home) to give it. Keep the dislike of people unlike yourself out of my forum, got it? Or I'll remove you from the whole board.

Also, when a mod gives a friendly (or in Mutai's case, kind of a friendly, LOL), I expect ya'll to listen and immediately stop. I'm not averse to giving warnings if these kind of pissing matches go for pages and pages.

Talk Trek and be good to one another. Or at least not bad.

Call me old fashioned, but whether you moderate this particular sub-forum or not, carrying a mod tag immediately implies you should be held to a higher standard WRT to petty bullshit on a board. Because like it or not, as a mod, you carry a night stick, real or implied, that other posters don't have. With higher authority comes higher responsibility, and at times, maybe stifling your own opinions for the greater good. If something ACTUALLY prejudicial to free speech or the rules is happening in a thread, STFU and let the mod responsible for the forum deal with it. If you aren't mature enough, or lack the self control to do that, maybe you should reconsider your position as a mod. And don't for a minute think I'm trying to shut you up- maybe you just need to think about giving up the nightstick (the badass green mod tag) if you want to run rough over any poster you don't agree with, whether it's 'your forum' or not. 'Bonz or anyone else in authority can slap me right back into place if they think I'm out of line, but you guys did way more to derail this thread than the one idiot you had a problem with.

The deleted section of Sybok turning Spock in STV:TFF heavily implied Spock was a young child when he left.

I had never seen that before. Just adds more interest in just how Spock and Sybok felt back then.

Imagine if Sybok was inspired by Michael being human, but acting Vulcan. And then Spock being half human, but not wanting to explore that side

I think after TBonz comment this would be a more appropriate thing to take to the "Ask a Mod" forum (can't remember what the official name of it is).

Can get back to what was an exceptional episode of Trek - had quite the old Trek feel in terms of the humour, plot etc

Did the pirate crew have a Klingon and a Reman ?
Pretty certain that lad was Reman but one of the helm looked like a JJ Trek Klingon or a DIS/TNG cross.

T'Pring doesn't have to actively want Spock to die in order to prefer him dying over being married to him. And I think being willing to get Kirk killed is not morally any better, nor is it any less of an indicator of how badly her relationship with Spock must have deteriorated.

Especially now that we know how easy it is to break a Vulcan engagement...

It's not time that changes the language ... it's fanatics like you!

There's also the line that stayed in: "I'm not the small child you left behind", or words to that effect.

The funny thing about this mess is that while watching the episode the “wokeness” went totally over my head. I still have no idea if Angel is supposed to be trans, non-binary or if all this is about something else.

Those damn liberals at Paramount better hire writer writers to hammer more in your face LGBT+ woke agenda, they totally missed me.
