Freedom of Speech is not freedom from consequences. That is why we have laws against defamation, slander and hate speech.

Why do you think that trans people need a story reason to exist in Star Trek? We don't require them for any other group that's been represented. Adira is on Discovery because they wanted to find the Federation and ended up joining the crew and becoming part of Paul and Hugh's family. Isn't that enough? Why would them being trans have to be addressed?
If you aren't a bigot then you should have a reason that makes sense. Because it looks like you just want to make an exception for trans people and you refuse to explain why, hence the most logical assumption being bigotry.

Anyway, This episode was pretty solid. I hope we get a Captain Angel episode each season, Jesse James Keitel absolutely killed it.

You still haven't given any examples of them not being used, while people have given examples showing how they are used.
