Good.Except for visual Canon violations it is the most trek like trek since The Orville. They still use 20th and 21st century colorful language like "pissed off" though and phasers are still going to be the pew pew pew star wars variety.
Hence why we didn't discuss TNG in the DS9 forum. Well, we did at times. Off and on. Now and then...^SNW is technically a Discovery spinoff.
To me, SNW is undeniably what a modern day remake of TOS would be, but gets to have its cake and eat it too. It uses characters and continuity to tell stories that fit prior to TOS, but it also visually and culturally updates everything for today's audiences. I like the series, appreciate the both blatant and subtle nods to things to come in TOS, and I really like the entire cast. I even bought an Eaglemoss model of the SNW/DIS Enterprise because I like the redesign.
I hope SNW has a nice run and begins to really flesh out its era before a certain Academy simulator cheater takes over the ship...
Whenever I relax on my chez lounge in a silk robe, enjoying a glass of Moet and a dubious cigarette, I thoroughly appreciate all those pandering to me. I do. Really. It's good, but much like the Star Wars TV series, there are times I feel like I'm.being pandered to.
To which I say, that's not a bad thing and yes sometimes I would like to be pandered to thank you very much.
Sometimes I'm in the mood for something new and different, sometimes I'm in the mood for something comfortable and familiar.I don't want pandering. I want stories about characters I'm interested in. Pandering is a cheap substitute for sincere interest.
That wasn't the point of the two shows. SNW is a deliberate episodic choice in addition to the serialized formats of DSC and PIC.why cant Disco and Picard be more like SNW?s
