Does anyone else dislike Raffi?

I have all the proof I need. But I'm just another random dude with no power.

Yes, in spite of the insipid opening post, it is indeed.

Well none of us has any power. But so far the thread is pretty good. I think like most things in life this will be a split opinion. Strange that so many things from politics to TV shows are split opinions in the population. Usually a 50/50 or close to it.

I don't know. I did very little posting last year. I was fending off my ex wife's text and verbal attacks over selling our house. Lol

There are few things more stressful than buying and selling a house.

Trolling again? Your little vacation from the forum didn't help?
Please don't publicly accuse another poster of trolling. Thanks.

Anyway on block you go, ever growing list - seems theres another one commenting in here too - as I'm keeping seeing what looks like replies to stuff I can't see.
Publicly declaring that you're putting someone on ignore is also a no-no; it's considered a form of trolling.

There's a lot of things I do like about Raffi, particularly her maternal side, but her manipulative streak is really getting under my skin.
It was difficult to watch when she did it to Elnor and she was doing it again to Seven when talking to her about joining Starfleet.

Yes. I noticed that to.

My big gripe with Raffi is the same one I have with many nu-Trek characters.

Emotionally immature, potentially mentally ill, unstable, unprofessional, and they just do not sell as functioning adults or starfleet officers.

This is not a fault of the actors- it's the fault of the writers. I'm sure they think they are creating teh drama and exciting character development- what they are actually doing is pulling people right out of their suspension of disbelief as it pertains to the characters.

THIS. ALL OF THIS IS CORRECT. THIS.

Eh, I've been around enough professionals both in and out of the military to know that the writers aren't off base in their portrayals.

I'm all in.

I think the second instance was supposed to be taken as sincere admiration of Seven's abilities, since Raffi had copped to her manipulative tendencies. But it comes literally one episode after she gets called out on this flaw, so it doesn't feel like there's been time for self-reflection. Regardless of intent, it feels more like backsliding.

So? Who cares? Either way he and Raffi were out of Starfleet. Your point was that Raffi wasn’t as good an officer as Riker, and I have yet to see any proof from you backing up that statement.

Raffi was a selfish drug addict from what we can see from the first season explaining her past. Riker wasn't. So yeah he's was a better and more reliable first officer.
