Personally, I find the idea of striving for perfection far more of an interesting and relatable story than actually being perfect.
That wasn't 'perfect' behaviour by any stretch of the word - yet another one of those mythos which seem to persist among people.
Perfection as a concept is nonsensical and doesn't exist... similar to the word 'utopia'... the very notion is nonsense.
What you saw was simply speaking FAR BETTER behavior and environment compared to what we have today, but it wasn't perfect.
To someone from 100 or 200 years ago, what we have today would seem like 'utopia' (except we know its not).
Let me put it another way.
We have had solutions to ALL our issues (or at least 95% of them) for the past century, but never really made a proper effort into utilizing them.
What do you think would have happened if we HAD?
Well lets see, life would certain change as we know it... it wouldn't be the same... problems would still exist, except they would be problems of a different kind (such as how to further improve quality of life for everyone on the planet while simultaneously reducing our footprint on it and improving the biosphere... or, finding the most effcient method to colonize the Moon, and Mars... or the most efficient method to create a Dyson Swarm... self improvement, etc.)
Solving the problems of today doesn't mean you created utopia or perfection... it just means we actually learned from our mistakes and created a BETTER system/environment that works for everyone.
But I don’t think we’re going to agree on this.
That depends. I'm trying to provide you with a reasoable explanation as to why things are the way they are. You also have the ability to research this on your own.
