Wow
What a Roddenberian view.
I'm not a fictional character from the Star Trek universe. As much as I'd like to be.

Raffi was a selfish drug addict from what we can see from the first season explaining her past. Riker wasn't. So yeah he's was a better and more reliable first officer.
Was she a drug addict while serving in Starfleet?
Only she knows. She seems unstable to me.

Ah, I see. IDIC only applies to fictional people I like. That sounds right...I'm not a fictional character from the Star Trek universe. As much as I'd like to be.
She’s so unstable, if she were a Warp Core we’d be abandoning ship.
Didn’t unfunny jokes get you banned?
It makes me very concerned a lot of the times. The way some of you are speaking of, an admittedly fictional character's, mental health and addiction is with such a lack of empathy, such disdain, that it really does make me wonder for how they treat people in the real world who don't fit their ideal.
We all have choice. As a species we love to put people we don’t like any chance we get, one of many flaws in the species.
Some of these comments are, at best, in poor taste.

Need to take a long look at yourselves and how your comments may affect others on the board.
For what purpose? Attention seeking behavior still indicates a need.I would bet that the people making these comments aren't making them because that's how they really feel. I'm pretty certain they're just doing it for some sort of shock value. Treat it like what it is: a cry for attention.

This isn't a therapist point of view. This is a behaviorist's point of view. What purpose does the behavior serve? We're not therapists.

Hazarding a guess I would say that they are uncomfortable with the current emotion and need validation. You tell me.
