That was a bad scene that everyone mocks!
She's has her Federation timeline memories, so what would being in a different body have to do with her martial knowledge?Seven is in the wrong body so she should not know how to fight well anymore now that she is lighter, weaker and far more fragile.
It's also a much slower process with many little steps where you can check reactions and adjust or abort. How do they react to a hovering ship? Ok, proceed with landing. Do they freak out yet? Ok, now open the doors...Landing would not endanger the ship since the humans there were a bunch of ragtag WW3 survivors. The humans were in no position to attack the Vulcan ship.
Why did they land? Maybe they thought landing the ship would be more formal than just beaming down since this was an official first contact. Or maybe the Vulcans were worried that beaming would scare the humans? Of course, the out of universe reason is that the writers probably thought the ship landing would look cool and look more like the first contact situations that we are used to. In other movies, the aliens always land in a ship and have a dramatic moment where the door opens to reveal the aliens. I think the writers wanted to do something similar.
In any case, the ship landing is not proof that Vulcans don't have transporter tech, just proof that they did not use transporter tech in this instance.
Explains so much.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but Vulcans had transporters in Kir'shara
Kir'Shara said:ARCHER: I'm still not clear how the Kir'Shara's gonna stop a war.
T'PAU: V'Las can't govern without approval from the Council. The existence of the Kir'Shara will persuade them to reconsider their support.
ARCHER: I don't suppose they'll let us just walk into the High Command.
T'PAU: We can transport in, but we'll need access codes.
ARCHER: I know someone who might have them.
As I said, it was but one example. There are plenty of clumsy attempts at allegories for modern social issues - Retrospect, Nothing Human and Critical Care just off the top of my head are just a few from Voyager alone. Even the much-lauded Far Beyond the Stars is mostly just a straightforward depiction of relatively modern racism.
Star Trek is riddled with unsubtle allegories for modern issues. I don't see how a depiction of one in its proper era is so objectionable, and couching the objection in the assertion that Trek hasn't done such unsubtle depictions before is just false.

I've never had a broken bone, so no casts. Can't relateBecause she doesn't have 40 pounds of metal in her, to use as weight to push people around or take a punch, or resist being pushed over, or ignore some %uck trying to judo flip her who thinks she only weighs 120 pounds when she really weighs 160 pounds. Or when she tries to jump kick flip some one in the face, she jumps too high because she is 40 pounds lighter than she thinks she is and completely misses her target, not that she can jump that high anymore without Borg enhancement, because she doesn't have servos enhancing her strength to the point that she can punch through concrete.
She doesn't have nanoprobes producing adrenaline or electrostimulating her muscles then she can't punch through concrete and she'll need the nanoprobes anyway to repair her shattered fist, and flesh tears, as it fails to punch through a concrete wall.
She trained to fight using a martial art that understood everyone was weaker and slower and more fragile than she was. Similar to how you would beat up a 10 year year old. How you beat the living shit out of a ten year old is not going to work on a 25 year old, or a 50 year old. It's a completely different skill set.
Functionally I only mean that it will take her time to relearn to fight now that she is lighter, weaker, slower, and less resilient. Give her 6 months to figure out what works and what does not work and she should be able to kill a man a little bigger and little stronger than she is with ease.
She shouldn't even be able to walk.
Hey?
Remember when you broke your arm, and you had a cast for 3 months, and when you took the cast off, it felt like your arm so light that it just wanted to float away?
Seven is in the wrong body so she should not know how to fight well anymore now that she is lighter, weaker and far more fragile.
Teleporting? Then Guinan jumps the shark with her teleporting with a bloody nose to show how dangerous it is, just to tell Picard that the guy has issues. Ugh
The Borg ... ADAPT.
Seven isn't stupid. She's managed to both drive a car and wheedle information out of a barroom employee.
I trust her to take care of herself.
The part where she appeared to Picard. Whatever you want to call it. Just laughableTeleporting?
Maybe I'll need to watch again, But it's not ringing any bells. They were in a room together for most of the episode. I remember her getting a nose bleed when doing some sort of El-Aurian mumbo jumbo, but nothing about teleporting. The part where she appeared to Picard. Whatever you want to call it. Just laughable
Superman II.
She was in another room because they were conveniently separated. And she figured that he had a past. So she somehow did a Luke Skywalker from the Last Jedi and appeared to Picard to tell him that.
