Good point. But maybe every character will say that at one point, just to keep us wondering!I think Picard's discussion with Renee and the Borg Queen scenes brought this up from a 6. Picard told Renee to look up - is it possible she's the Borg Queen of the future and Jurati is just a misdirect?
I'm starting to wonder why they made her a regular if they hardly use her. Her hang-ups with the implants/ people's reaction and now not having them deserves to be explored on a deeper level than just one-liners.It was weird that Jeri Ryan hardly appeared in this - I wonder if things had to be cut due to Covid shutdowns while filming or something.
Then again, screentime or not, I feel very little thought has been put into characters other than Picard, Jurati and the BQ (and, hopefully, Q). I know I've been rolling my eyes at Rios' generic "captain dude's instant love story with woman in the past" plot, but he still may have gotten the best deal of the bunch. I've mentioned Raffi and Seven in previous threads already.
If they're more interested in exploring new characters - another Soong, Kore, Renée, MaybeLaris - alongside the trifecta, fine. (Maybe just temporarily remove some s1 characters from the board, like Elnor?) But I find Talinn strangely weak as a character so far (it's the writing, not the acting), am not all that interested in yet another mad scientist Soong, and having yet another of his creations - played by the same actress, no less - discover she's an android isn't all that captivating, either. YMMV.
