Everyone knows Pike is a big fan of Tintin.
It's art. Designers want to outvtheir own touch on it.What makes one phaser look “better” than another?
What is one’s measuring stick (dare I say “canon” in its original sense) for what is good prop design? Cuz I like the TOS ones fine. Why change em at all? I don’t get it.
Reminds me of my dad's hair, from the 1950's to the 2000s. He never changed it, it just got gray.I'm more dubious about Pike's 'do, to tell you the truth. He's looking a little like a middle-aged guy who's trying to be hip, or something.
I really wish I could get away with Pike's hair.
Mine is actively leaving.I wish I still had hair LOL
I think once they're done with all these character teasers; perhaps there may be a lull and then they'll release a trailer at Star Trek Mission Chicago at some pointWith the Pike teaser up now, I wonder if they’re releasing another final 30 second teaser for the entire crew/the series as a whole, or maybe the Enterprise tonight, and then the full trailer on Tuesday/First Contact Day.

I'd love to be wrong and see them release a lot of marketing promos from now to the premiere date; but I don't think they can do that for the next 32 days.
But I guess we'll find out as time moves forward.
At some point in dime it needs to stop. This past week has been rather unique for a media blitz, far more than I actually expected, though the timing is certainly right with being a little over a month out from premiere. But, I will be skeptical that we will see more, beyond spots, leading up to the release.I think you’re right that the steady stream of promos will die out sooner than later, but a brand new promo being released midday on a Saturday isn’t their usual route either, and so far they’ve all been in pairs, otherwise I wouldn’t even dream of another one coming today. I know it’s a longshot, but it seems more plausible than usual today.
I think they may show a rather long promo at Mission Chicago; but I doubt they're going to Premiere/screen the full episode at the convention itself.

Admiral Marcus for sure.Since we're flooding the show with TOS characters, it's time to move onto TOS movie characters. I fully expect to see young Carol Marcus, Kruge, Sybok, Gorkon, Chang, and Cartwright running around. Then bring in young Soran, pre-disfigured Son'a, Krall, and Admiral Marcus. That's enough for a few seasons worth of stories. :P
I get that but someone was comparing SNW to DSC phasers I think and saying one was better? How? They both look good. It's art. Designers want to outvtheir own touch on it.
Aesthetically pleasing? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Better is a matter of personal perspective. In my opinion, treating a design as the only way to do something is rather short sighted.I get that but someone was comparing SNW to DSC phasers I think and saying one was better? How? They both look good.
And I wish new designers didn’t have to justify their existence by making changes to things. But that’s me.
