Unlike every other black woman, she can leave Earth at any time

We actually don't know that.

As for Ten-Forward: I agree. It makes sense for the bar on the Enterprise to have that name, because it's on the forward section of deck 10. Having the bar in LA on a street with that name does sound kinda awkward.

Although I suppose Guinan could have indeed asked for the Ent-D's bar to be put in that location even before she herself arrived there. She may have taken a look at the deck plans, noticed that there was free space on deck 10, and thought, hell, why not.

Congratulations for taking several pages to make the most irrelevant, oblivious, tedious, pedantic, vapid comment possible. Really, an achievement in pointlessness. Slow clap.

I’m not particularly interested in your opinions about my posts. So clap all you want.

Because at the moment they are in the 21st Century US

But just a few moments earlier, they were in a much worse place - a Mirror Universe, where they were commiting public executions and violent murder and suppression of aliens. And they DIDN'T get emotionally affected! Instead - they acted their professional parts, and tried to to their overall job - fix the timeline.

Can I just say - I like the "MIB"-vibes that "aliens & time-travellers in present day Earth" gives? I hope they lean much more toward that in the coming episodes. A little bit of "fun" would help as well.

They seemed a bit confused and were pretty much winging it. I'd say emotions were in play the whole time.

I'm definitely intrigued by Q losing his powers. I suppose the Continuum could have put that on him, but it's also possible the Supervisor/Watcher is responsible...

True, but we don't know how long she's had that option available to her. For all we know she could have been stuck on Earth for decades and only NOW is able to leave.

We also don’t know how long she wanted to leave. She might have been just fine up until 2020 or so.

Yeah, they're not robots, nor should they be (even though they have pretty loose trigger fingers & no problems at all blasting MU humans into pulp :guffaw:).

But I think they handled themselves much better in that situation. That was also a lot more high-stakes, and with clearer, immediate threats & objectives, so it was just tons more entertaining to watch.

That... I actually don't really care about. There was already a pretty fun but meaningless VOY-episode tackling that.
And I definitely prefer "fun (and only slightly sinister) Q" to "high stakes serious drama Q".

I'm still confused. If this is a different 2024, how can they ever hope to restore the future they know?
(i.e. the Federation)

How can two different pasts lead to the same future?
Because (now repeat after me):

Me: No time travel story…
You*: No time travel story…
Me: …withstands close scrutiny…
You: …withstands close scrutiny…
Me: …so it’s best to accept the “rules” as given…
You: …so it’s best to accept the “rules” as given…
Me: …and try to enjoy the ride.
You: …and try to enjoy the ride.

Now, doesn’t that feel better? ;)

*(“You” can mean anyone who gets too many headaches when contemplating the “logic” of a non-existent phenomenon primarily intended as a form of entertainment rather than a serious attempt at uncovering the complexities of physics—for those who don’t suffer the headaches, carry on as you wish.)

I guess one issue with Guinan is why didn't she just leave the planet when she started to see the first injustices? She could leave at anytime so why stick around on earth and see all the misery. Or why didn't she use some of her advanced alien tech to make things better. She is not Starfleet, especially since Starfleet didn't even exist. No Prime Directive issues to worry about.

Wouldn't that have been a second after she arrived in the 1800s?

That would depend on what she arrived with. If it was just the clothes on her back, not much. El-Aurians aren't Q. She might have been very active in the abolitionist and suffragist movements and later Civil Rights. She could have used any knowledge she possessed to push technology forward as well. We just don't know.

It all comes down to what impacts them emotionally, which appears to be a recurring theme throughout this season. Picard struggling with the Borg attack, Seven telling him to blow the ship, Rios trying to get his crew to stop firing. All of these are emotional moments and decisions the crew have to make. And then they are flung in to an alternate timeline and have to behave contrary to their natures. And then they have to time travel to sort it all out.

How much professionalism can be expected at this point?

This kinda blows the idea that the boy Jack from "Carbon Creek(ENT)" was meant to be Roykirk out of the water since Jack was about to head to college and Roykirk would have been only 12 at the time of Sputnik's launch but still, that was a cool theory while it lasted.
