Another minor complaint…about Seven’s hairstyle of all things! It looks far too contemporary; it’s that omnipresent hairstyle that virtually every woman on TV seems to have these days: long, middle parting, straight on top and wavy underneath (heck, there are even articles about it: https://www.vox.com/2016/3/11/11195958/tv-hair-jane-the-virgin-empire-younger). It looks good on her, yes, but it also makes her look likes she’s stepped out of “Real Housewives” or something. It screams contemporary while Star Trek should really be divorced from current of-the-moment trends.
Walter Koenig would like a word with you.
That’s true…sorry, Walter! I guess I should be glad none of the male cast wore mullets in the 80’s.
As would just about every female to ever grace TOS's sound stage or any of the other shows for that matter.
Koenig was still suffering from bad fashion in 1984. That outfit in TSFS.

Could be. This is just six years after the first fusion-driven sublight engines are developed and sleeper ships started falling into disuse. The ring could be more of a conventional nuclear power structure.
