Rather listen to Pa Kent than Jorel, anyway.Picard didn't retcon anything. Discovery takes place in the 32nd century where time travel is banned. Picard takes place in the 25th Century.
According to Dave Blass, many of the weapon on display in Picard's collection are the original props.
Neville Page says the big/wide Skull is from a new species called the 'Lihn Zhee'

To be specific, he refers to it as an unfinished version of a non-canon species. Is this his way of saying the name is just something he threw on it, so don't take it too seriously?Neville Page says the big/wide Skull is from a new species called the 'Lihn Zhee'

It hasn't. The ban is only in the 31st/32nd centuries.
They’ve not retconned it at all.
Time travel is banned in discovery because of the Temporal Wars. They haven’t happened yet in Picard.
You three seem to be missing the fact that Time Travel means there's no difference. They’ve not retconned it at all.

No...they wouldn't. The ban would mean they can't travel from the 31st Century and they can't travel to it. That's what the ban means. That's not banning across all time. You three seem to be missing the fact that Time Travel means there's no difference.
Meaning to ban Time Travel in the 31st/32nd centuries they would have to ban time travel across all of time.
Because otherwise it's not a ban, it's sticking your head in the sand and pretending something doesn't exist like an idiot.
Much literature and more human history revolves around people facing the consequences of this behavior.it's sticking your head in the sand and pretending something doesn't exist like an idiot.
It's pretty simpleAccording to Jurari, the Confederation doesn't know how to time travel.
That's T'Poling.According to Jurari, the Confederation doesn't know how to time travel.
Epigenetics shows that behaviors and experiences of trauma and abuse affect the expression of DNA, allowing the behaviors to be repeated within the next generation.

No matter how idiotic time travel is.
Thanks. That certainly makes more sense. You'd think he'd have just said "new species" but confusion can be fun too.He clarified
Nope.they would have to ban time travel across all of time.
Yes, space and time are mind numbingly vast. All those species out there and their shenanigans the Feds don't know and have no control over doing whatever they want. It's a silly plot device like the Prime Directive. It's there for dramatic tension but in reality any effort to enforce it would be a joke.
Or in other words, increasingly ridiculous plot contrivances. They don't go into detail on how it's enforced in Discovery, but in the DTI novels, if I remember correctly, there is a Galaxy wide anti-time travel field (that was developed in secret to prevent time travelers from interfering with it's deployment). This would allow you to travel from the past into the future, but you'd be stuck there, prevening technology theft. And no one from the future could go back and change anything because they are from a time when the field already exists.
