The musical montage in that final minute or so was beautiful and reminiscent of the end of Gattaca with Adira looking up into the stars as Tilly's shuttlecraft warped away. I rewatched the end sequence four or five times. Wonderfully put together. The musical score with hints at the Discovery main theme thrown in was extremely well done.
I enjoyed the episode a great deal. Sort of like Discovery's Lower Decks. I hope some of the cadets here return in the Starfleet Academy series, because I enjoyed their interactions, even when they were at odds, but especially when they saw each other's point of view. I assume since this was sort of a back door pilot that they will be back, I hope. I'm gonna miss Tilly on the show as a regular, but looking forward to seeing her as a lead on Starfleet Academy.
Get some, Saru. "Would you care to join me for tea?" That's Vulcan for "Let's get it on."
It's somewhat comforting to see that even after 950 years shuttlecraft will continue to be disaster magnets.
