Just thought of something:

"Kobayashi Maru" implies that President Rillak was newly elected when we first meet her. So maybe during the previous season, Kovich was the president after all! :mallory:

srsly, Kovich was off the charts cool, I hope we will see him again. And I'm the furthest thing from a David Cronenberg fan (his films kind of make me sick).

Grrr... Why are we having a galaxy ending threat again? Why is Burnham the only one to be able to save the day? Worst show ever!!! (TM)

"The Flux"

And with those 2 words, I'm suddenly reminded of another tv show which has galaxy ending threats way too often long before Disco with an overused character who's been the only one who can save the day far more often than Burnham (to put it mildly), and suddenly Star Trek Discovery doesn't seem so bad anymore.:guffaw:

a few times should do the trick.(though I’m glad to see her in the captains chair). Kirk saved the Galaxy many times though but always in harmony with the crew sharing credit with the crew(and always depending on resources at hand rather then on mysterious super powers) in short the crew got the credit in the decisive moment not mostly the captain in previous Trek series. But it is what it is and the show is awesome in many other aspects and I look forward to seeing her in equilibrium with the other characters as the series progresses. Michael Burnham has a mixed record both great character and annoying as hell.

Then he’s done his job.

I think you forget a few things:

Yes, Robert Meyer Burnett is an expert of True Star Trek.

No. He's an expert on his interpretation of Star Trek. There's a difference.

He wasn’t the President, but a cultural historian and the Federation’s resident Terran Empire/Mirror Universe expert, and he will be returning in the new season, according to an interview with David Cronenberg from last week.
