For maximum authenticity, Strange New Worlds will only ever reuse the 17 stock space shots made for The Original Series.
They had that many?
Yes, but only if you count this gem:

I keep thinking it would be hilarious if the cold open of the first episode was shot to look exactly like a TOS episode, limited VFX shots and all, but then it turns out that it's just Pike having a dream/nightmare or something, and it cuts to the modern style when he wakes up. It would mess with everyone's heads for a few minutes. For maximum authenticity, Strange New Worlds will only ever reuse the 17 stock space shots made for The Original Series.
I personally wave off the Cage look as temporary dress uniforms (hey, this is the same Starfleet that thought the TPM uniforms were a good idea) and the bridge a temporary bridge all in place for whatever that incident on Rigel VII was. The non canon comic books had it as a ceremony for Rigel VII joining the Federation, which would explain dress uniforms and maybe combat was involved that necessitated a temporary bridge setup/module while the real bridge was damaged.I keep thinking it would be hilarious if the cold open of the first episode was shot to look exactly like a TOS episode, limited VFX shots and all, but then it turns out that it's just Pike having a dream/nightmare or something, and it cuts to the modern style when he wakes up. The bottom saucer seems to have it's curve back, instead of being almost entirely flat in DSC. But that's just from a out of focus screen in that BTS video. It might just be the lighting.well damn in that case i hope the change won't be in the direction of the outdated tos one
Either dress uniforms, or possibility temporary field uniforms for more rugged assignments, used due to damage caused.I personally wave off the Cage look as temporary dress uniforms (hey, this is the same Starfleet that thought the TPM uniforms were a good idea) and the bridge a temporary bridge all in place for whatever that incident on Rigel VII was.
