Think there's any chance we might see the USS Dorothy Garrod? I actually really love this design for a science ship.

Anybody in the US get a La Sirena shipping notice yet? I noticed the website still had the expected delivery date of 4/19...

My credit card got charged for something a couple of days ago but hasn’t fully posted yet. No corresponding emails, so it’s not quite real yet.

For those into lore, STO has identified Book's Ship as a Kwejian pilot frigate.
    Source: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11487283

The 'pilot' part refers to a particular ingame mechanic, so the common name may be Kwejian frigate. I wonder if Eaglemoss drops a name, like the rumored Nautilus.
Would be cool if it could be tied into the lore of other shows. Perhaps that ship was built by the Mighty Morphin' Fenris Rangers?...

Frigate is probably also a game name, as they scaled this one up in the game so it could be used as a regular starship.

I got my Wipeout racer today. Quite a striking model. The magazine is interesting but there is one thing that bugs me in it is that they call the transporter room the teleport room which is just wrong. They should know better.

My Hiawatha just shipped, which I guess answers my question if they were going go backfill my Discovery collection holes (still missing a bunch before and after the Hiawatha though...).

I think I’ve got one model left on my Discovery subscription, excluding the special ones. I’ve got all the Fed ships so I’m not that bothered to get it.

Yes, if they released an accurate XL model of the refit 1701, I'd be in there like a shot. Such a shame that one of the most iconic Star Trek ships came to have that bizarre error!

As it's one I haven't gotten yet, what's the error? And is it the same on the A?

There isn't an XL refit, just the XL Enterprise-A. It's got the wrong bridge module for some reason. It's not hugely noticeable unless you're a total ship geek, but most people buying these are!

Ah, I thought you meant there was an error on the standard-sized 1701. I don't plan on getting the XLs, so less of a worry for me, but that still sucks. Thanks for the clarification.

Here's what it looks like. These two pictures give the clearest views:
    sssuk606_5.jpg sssuk606_4.jpg
The things that stand out the most:
    • As @Tomalak correctly mentioned, the bridge module (including the B/C deck area beneath it) is completely wrong - it's the intermediate design between the Phase II and final TMP+ models. And yet, they painted it like it was the TMP version. Sadly, the shape of that bridge doesn't match how they tried to paint it and it looks like shit.
    • The main gangway hatch is on the wrong side of the primary hull (surrounded on either side by immensely off-scale ship name decals), and sticking out away from the main hull, where it should be flush and just mildly sunken in.
    • The RCS details, conversely, ARE sunken into the hull, when they should just be faintly outlined with a narrow embossing.
    • The windows around the edge of the primary hull are completely wrong (they all look kind of like the rec deck windows, which should only be starboard-side-aft, next to the impulse engines).
    • Aztecking paint job is all wrong - way too big for what it should be at this scale.
    • The detailing on the top of the impulse housing behind the deflection crystal is reversed negatively. Details which should be going in are coming out and details that should be coming out are going in.
Now, all this being said, the secondary hull, engine nacelles and connecting pylons are actually quite nice. the space matter acquisition sinks (bussard collectors to the kids) are correctly painted black and not clear blue (like the small version) or red. If they just redid the primary hull, it would be a very nice-looking model that one could be proud to display. Alas, there's not enough lipstick in the world that can cover this pig without cutting its whole damn head off. Literally.

It's a far cry from the Reliant model, which is, relatively speaking, damn near perfect and quite comparatively accurate to its larger namesake. I honestly don't know how the XL-A got such a bad treatment, as many of the other models like the Reliant are pretty damn good.

It’s like watching a Trekyards video with these comments. I would have never have noticed. :)
I don’t think I have the XL refit. It think the next one I would get is the Enterprise C

Cheers @137th Gebirg, it's worse than I remember! But you're right, the secondary hull and nacelles look really nice. Such a shame.

TBH, if you want a good refit model, the Diamond Select Enterprise is excellent. Yeah, they are classified more as "toys" than "collectibles", and there are a lot of extra bumps and things where screw-holes were covered up and aren't quite flush with the rest of the surfacing, but at least they got the physical details and paint job right, for the most part.

It's like Eaglemoss gave that one particular project to a bunch of summer interns or something. It just doesn't track with the usually higher-quality work that Ben's group generally delivers. Hell, the work they did to basically rebuild the TSFS Merchantman from absolutely zero was nothing less than astounding - a near-perfect work of art by every metric. What the hell happened with one of the most iconic starships in TV/film history, FFS??

Which is just as inaccurate, if not more...
