I keep thinking about replacing mine after the bare plastic was stained yellow by a stay in a cardboard box for a couple months during a move (maybe I could paint the current one gold or something). Though looking at the listings, it seems I've missed the window and they're finally out of production. Oh, well. Yellow or not, it's still a good model.

They'll probably re-release it in a few years. They are quite regular.

I've got the original Art Asylum Enterprise-A from 2003 I think. The top has also yellowed, and the stand broke, which is annoying. I keep thinking I should try to retrobrite it. Anyone know if it's possible to get decals in the right scale? All the model kits are too large. I think it's approx 1/750 scale.

Yeah, but there is a huge difference between a ship that was in one episode of TNG, versus one of the most filmed models made for Trek (not to mention done for the big screen so available reference material is far easier to get and see for their specific detail. While the Ambassador Class ship is scene far more in its altered state for various later ships than its one appearance as the C, where there is far, far less photo evidence of its accurate state.

Lots of discounts on the UK Eaglemoss site today, including Disco ships at £20.

I went for the Rommie science ship, the Vastam command cruiser, the Stargazer box version, 23rd century Tholian ship, the Romulan shuttle and the Vengeance.

Hmm... Do I get Spacedock now when it's in stock and there's a $5 discount that actually applies... or should I wait, hoping it'll be in stock when there's a better sale? ...Sigh.

I really wish I knew if the magazine had a size comparison or specs for the TNG-era "upscaled" version.

Huh. Then I wonder where the bit of info on their size-comparison chart came from (upper left or bottom right corners).

I think that's made my Mike Curran, who's not affiliated with Eaglemoss.

The actual chart, sure, maybe, but the dimensions are all (supposedly) taken directly from EM publications. So if the upscale size data didn't come from the Spacedock magazine issue, I wonder where it came from? That figure doesn't quite match any of the fan-generated numbers that have been floating about for years.

    That is a nice find.

Mike (if that’s him) does outstanding work there.

Not all of his scales come from the Eaglemoss books. For example the length of the V'ger core ship he uses is from the novelization, as the Eaglemoss book only gives the diameter of the cloud. His Earth Space Dock scale is an estimation based on other sources. It doesn't mention where he got the size of the upscaled TNG Starbase, guessing it's estimation based on the size of the Ent-D.

The pages for the issues mention if he uses a different length.

Wonderful. Now, the remastered TNG had the energy beam from Farpoint fixed...I would like to see Ent-D going inside a new station or backing up to the ‘shroom the way Probert wanted. And give the Sheliak a larger ship.

Is anyone in the real world actually doing the Enterprise-D partwork, or is it just YouTubers getting comp copies?

I’ll not be doing it. I just completed the BTTF Delorean and, while it is a beautiful model when finished, it was a bit of a trial to put together. That, and the E-D was never my favorite of the Enterprises.

One day, I might do the Hachette 1:350 Yamato and Andromeda, but my bank account (and my wife) likely won’t support those projects at this time.

It looks very cool, especially since it separates but I’m not doing it either.

now, if they were ever to do the TOS Enterprise…I would have to think long and hard on that.
