News JANEWAY RETURNS! Star Trek: Prodigy

Unless she’s not a Starfleet captain.

She could be a Captain in the sense that Rios is "Captain" of La Sirena on Picard (I'm still thinking she retired as an Admiral and then went back out into space).

She's Captain of THAT particular ship -- not necessarily a SF "Captain".

However, i'm not sure about this whole "lawless teens" stuff.
I mean, how exactly are they lawless? Do they just dont follow the law? If yes why isnt star fleet after them?
I mean, you dont just get to find a ship floating around somewhere without atleast stealing a shuttle to get there

Maybe they're in the Neutral Zone?

It's too big for such a small crew (of TEENAGERS, no less!)
I'd agree normally. But if this does take place in the dystopian future it could be like a Year of Hell type situation. Skeleton crew getting the ship back to operational status. Granted it was the senior staff in YoH that was left and knew what they were doing but this is a kids show. I am sure we'll be suspending our disbelief plenty.

Prodigy will be on Paramount+ after all, Nickelodeon will air repeats after the season is finished.

Well, f*** it people. I was never much fun of Star Trek´s always humanoid aliens, but this is the other extreme. Three of these are looking like Monsters Inc. characters and the rest like from classical Reboo...

Must wait.... Must wait...

This new star trek made by the same creators of TrollHunters/ Arcadia? Because that's the vibe I get from those pictures. I'm excited either way, love that they're bringing back Janeway... What's the stardate for the series? Figure out if shes captain, vice Admiral or Admiral in the new series?

It's got Janeway and Outrageous Okona in it, so probably somewhere between Voyager getting home (2378) and the era of Star Trek: Picard (2399)

Until we found out Okona was in it, I was hoping for it to be set post-Burn (3189, give or take 120 years) and Janeway be a hologram.

THAT is the crew!?

can’t say I’m impressed. Looks like it’s from a 2000s cartoon...a bad one.

Same here. Something seems oddly artificial, as far as animated beings are concerned. I was thinking Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and Shrek... then I saw your post, looked it up, and - d'oh - two were from that era and the other was just a teensy handful of years prior. :o

Also, dibs that Okona will snu-snu the blue blob.

Interesting. And surprising it’s close but not totally overlapping with Lower Decks, which should be around 2381 in season two!

Just saying: in 2385 Admiral Janeway is likely still in service, so it’s not impossible the real one will show up as well!

I hope there's at least some attention to be paid to exactly how this ship came to be abandoned and in the DQ.

And I highly doubt it will be the Aeroshuttle. Not anywhere near enough room to sustain a full series. The Aero's interior space is little more than a runabout, amirite?

Well, why not!

I guess it will be better than all those doom-and-gloom 2020s series we have to stand in these days.
I just wish that they could bring back Kes in a similar way too. :bolian:
