Season 3 has been quite a rollercoaster ride with some big ups, and for a lot of fans, some big downs.

We were introduced to a world we didn't expect. Earth was peaceful, yet no longer part of the Federation, Vulcan is now called Ni'Var, ships have detatched nacelles (still haven't figured out why that's a benefit) and pretty much everything else has been rearranged politically. I'd say that the writers have avoided a lot of the expected clichés of a post-apocalyptic world, so in that regard, the show has arguably offered up something new and interesting. They also kept Saru as captain instead of having someone else fight for the role. And Georgiou taking the Discovery back to the 23rd century as many predicted? Nope. No explanation for "Calypso" just yet.

The second half on the other hand has delved deeper into space politics which all too often can lose people. With one episode left in the season, what can we expect? So far we have the crew of the Discovery trying to take back the ship, Osyraa proposing a merger with the Feds, a new source of dilithium and the revelation that a screaming child collapsed the galaxy and could do so again. But what's the twist that will lead us into season 4? What's the turn that will have everyone talking for the next year or so?

One last hour to go until we find out.

Tilly is Dorothy and Osyraa is The Wicked Witch of the West.
    Betty Boop is Zora.
I'm guessing the Federation is Bugs Bunny and the Emerald Chain is Elmer Fudd.
    Burnham is John McClain.

Who's supposed to be like James Bond? I'm guessing that's SPECTRE chasing him... Zareh's like one of Blofeld's main henchmen.

That’s not James Bond... that’s Cary Grant being chased by the crop-duster in North by Northwest.

Cary Grant's character was Roger Thornhill, who was mistaken by enemy agents for George Kaplan (a spy that didn't exist). The more that Thornhill tries to convince the enemy agents that he is not Kaplan, the more the enemy agents think he is Kaplan.

Which character falls into that category? Perhaps the sphere data.

With Saru being absent from the bridge and Burnham being made captain, I hope Saru isn't dead!!!!!

    On the other hand...

I'm happy to see Michael in the Captain's chair. I feel like Discovery has continually suffered because Michael is the lead, but not in command. It creates this weird dynamic like where Pike would agree to everything she suggested because she's the protagonist, and has to be the primary "hero" of the story.

Basically, the "Lower Decks" conceit could have worked if they treated the show like...well...Lower Decks. But if you want stories which involve big things (even this season is pretty big) it just streches credulity to have a lower-rank officer be the focal point for everything.

I think it's most likely Saru has been re-assigned to Starfleet Command. Or he's helping with the fall-out of the revelation of Su'Kal appearing to have caused The Burn. Either way, his priorities and responsibly would take him away from Discovery.

But if we continue to see Discovery regularly interact with Starfleet Command then that means Saru will still be on the series, even if he's not actually serving on the ship, just like Vance.

Non-spoiler review (because I haven't seen it yet)
    -OMG, they did what?
    -Burnham speech(es) were boring again
-Oh Tilly, you'll never be captain at this pace
    -Saru, that was clever
-Poor Osyrra, and I just started to like her
    -Pook Book
-Poor Discovery, they'll get a new ship next season
-OMG, Picard is alive in 32nd century!?
Pretty exciting episode all things considered, best of the season - 4/10

Oh boy, was I grossly optimistic. 1/10, only because poll doesn't have a 0

The close up did, but the bridge shot seemed legit.

I'm not going to lie. I knew it had to happen because it makes sense that they'd be switching over to the 32nd Century uniforms. But I really prefer the original Disco Uniforms.

Maybe it'll be better if they adjust the lighting or tweak the shade of gray on the new uniforms.

Star Trek reddit is going to have a meltdown, with that major spoiler in the pictures lol. But at least I was right with one prediction and the other. (Well I knew some leaks before, but not the major one in the first picture.)

The styling of Thornhill's (Grant's) gray flannel suit he wore in 1959 would still look great today.

The producers can't honestly think those uniforms are an improvement over the original ones can they? Can they!?

I thought the close-up seemed photoshoppy too when I looked at it on my phone, but on my computer it looks okay.
