How would you do a VOY movie today?

That always felt so wrong to me. B'Elanna wasn't a diplomat or all that interested in Klingon matters, a better fate for her would be heading up an R&D section at the Daystrom Institute or SCE, somewhere Janeway could use her past relationship with Torres to swoop in and steal the McGuffin.

• Naomi Wildman has a maybe 10-year old daughter Sabrina.

Given how rapidly even half-Ktarians age, Sabrina could just be three Earth years old.

A massive alien ship suddenly appears in the Sol System, brought there by a displacement wave (the composition of which matches the one that the Caretaker used). As Starfleet scrambles every ship in the system, Professor Kathryn Janeway is awoken with a telepathic message sent from the crew of the unknown ship, which carries all that remains of the Ocampa, who have fled their home due to a devastating war that is threatening trillions in the DQ. She contacts Starfleet and tells them they need to stand down, only to learn that all of the remaining Voyager crew received similar calls for help.

The Ocampa ship was sent to find Janeway and the others and take Voyager back to help them, as such there is space within their vessel for a single Intrepid-Class starship. Using her clout, Janeway manages to get Starfleet to agree and pulls Voyager from its museum exhibition, and pulls together as much of the former crew as she can, as well as taking on several new members. Back onboard her historic command, Janeway heads back to the DQ, where they find the Vaadwaur are the ones behind the war and have defeated numerous other races, with scattered ships across the Quadrant holding out as best they can but with no unified approach or strategy. Janeway and her crew must pull together these disparate races if they are to stand any chance.

I like this idea. I would like to learn the Ocampa has evolved somehow; just like humans had their series of evolution. The Ocampa had to have lost some noble people to journey such a dangerous path, it would make the travel worth it and Janeway passionate about what they went through.

• Tuvok has a degenerative mental disorder and is in a hospital.

Wasn't that only in the "old" timeline, where they didn't get back in time to cure him?

I think we're all missing the most important question! Is Molly still alive? I would hope so, it'd be a bummer if humans were the only species on Earth to enjoy longer lives than we have now.

My movie would have got a lot of "Sleeping in Light"-vibe (like in Babylon 5): After many years the 'old gang' comes together, maybe because someone of them (it hasn't to be Janeway) died or because the Doctor gets his first commando or whatever. There would be a lot of talking and just some 'family-scenes'.

The only point is: I don't have any real 'story idea'. That's because the 'usual suspects' - the return of the Borg; any kind of return to the Delta Quadrant; a Stafleet conspiracy - wouldn't work for me. Some would feel too repetitive for me, some just wouldn't sfit to VOY in my eyes.

To be honest, I always wanted a serial finale like this: just one episode, where they come together after one or five years and decide to stay together as a crew at the end. Just 45 minutes (maybe 90, when they wanted to show us some 'Seven'-problems and stuff like that in the first half). Today, it would be a bit too late for this.

If I was making a Voyager movie now, it would be about how they got home the first time. (Before Admiral Janeway messed with time.) That way everyone would be more or less age-appropriate for their roles and I might get a more emotionally satisfying finale.

I agree that to make a Voyager movie, and not just a movie featuring one or two Voyager characters, setting it in a reality other than that of "Endgame" is the way to go. Depending on who they were able to get back, they might even want to do a second-generation flick, a la "E²". Maybe even set it in a reality where the ship got too beat up/the crew suffered too many fatalities to continue the course home, and they settled down somewhere.

Well for one thing, Harry Kim would have a promotion. Neelix would be ambassador to the delta quadrant. Oh and he would have a totally different costume design and no mullet. I love Neelix but man his taste was bad.

I would watch a well-done movie, as long as it has a Janeway/ Seven showdown: Starfleet's supposed values vs. Seven's opinions, pencil-pusher Admiral J vs Fenris Ranger...

It should have happened. Maquis could get uniforms after 1 episode but Kes and 7 not a chance despite both being active crew members. At least Icheb got one in the end

As for "Picard" I must admit that Seven is one of the few characters there which I really like!

Back in the days of Voyager, Seven really annoyed the s**t out of me because she replaced Kes and more and less took over the show.

In Picard she's actually brilliant! One of few spots of light in that dystopic mess.

A ship lost on the other side of the galaxy finding its way home.

You can’t really do a movie with this premise. At least not a good one, unless you want some sort of Gilligan’s isle style movie.

Which doesn’t work.

In terms of practicality-you have the issue with actors much older than they were in 2001.

Serious question but could you just do a modern story with the Voyager crew and they're somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant but not in the local area?
And let's say they somehow were able to do Voyager audio books with new stories and the actors as they are today, would you rather new stories set while they were on the road in the Delta Quadrant in the 2370s and we just ignore any voice changes, or new story set in whatever the current year of Star Trek it would be? Not that I expect any of this to happen but just curious what other people think.

Seven wouldn't cuss. (She's a highly disciplined former military officer; she possesses MUCH better emotional control than that.)

Someone like Rios -- yeah. I can see him throwing around a few F-bombs. Seven ... No.
