It is not weird, because context matters. In an emergency situation, people often set aside the proprieties that would apply under normal circumstances. If you see a male EMT giving CPR to a woman and your first thought is "Eww, is he feeling her up?", that's not a normal reaction. It should be obvious that that's not the intention in that context.

His job was to drive the kid from place to place.

It was pretty obvious that she knew when she showed up--but the scene was well done. I loved the Columbo "just one more thing" as she was walking out.

I think the best way to go about this is that the ISA planned well for the JSA ten years ago---the JSA were established professionals and operated using tactics that were easy to figure out. The ISA not being able to figure out the teens may be the out. Also their own children may unpredictably switch sides by the end of the season.

Well, at least one kid switching sides might not be unpredictable if you're familiar with the comics. Or do you mean unpredictable from the parents' perspective?

Well I didn't expect Brainwave, Sr. to wake.
I guess "Robin Hood Guy" and his sidekick don't have names. ;)

I was surprised that we didn't see Stargirl at all in this episode of Stargirl. The only one who donned a costume was Yolanda, and that was to threaten murder rather than do anything heroic.

I'm surprised they mentioned the Crimson Avenger's sidekick Wing, who in his original Golden Age incarnation was a very, very stereotyped Chinese-servant character who spoke broken English. But I suppose later portrayals have probably reinterpreted him.

Wing dies in the story that brought the 7 Soldiers back in the 1970's. He hasn't appeared much since, but he was very much reinterpreted. He was originally the Kato to the Crimson Avenger's Green Hornet before they got "union suits". It's interesting that they went with Green Hornet look rather than the superhero one for CA but Wing get's the union suit.

There’s another team as well? How old is Pat? They make it sound like they were from the 50’s.
There is definitely more to this Yolanda’s story? I still doN’t think he was showing those pics to his friends.

I don’t like her mum finding her out. That feels like something to do for season 2.

It's a Berlanti show. I'm surprised it took this long.

The JSA ( and the 7 Soldiers) in comics dates back to the forties. This JSA might as well

I get the impression they're playing Pat and the Soldiers as younger than the JSA.

I'm not sure about that, since in the photo, Pat is standing behind an adolescent-sized Star-Spangled Kid, the guy who grew up (in this continuity) to be Starman.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
You blinked and missed the bit where Cindy clones Hank's phone.

We have always known that he was innocent.

The problem with the justice system, is that you can't be forgiven, until you admit culpability and give amends for crime that you've actually done.

So he probably had to lean into the fix to make his way out clean.

The Breakdown in logic is that Brain Wave would know if his son was innocent.

    Two possibilities.

    1. Cindy uploaded the boobie video to very public places on the net, but Hank was also sharing the boobie video's discreetly, which is why his guilt seemed like also her guilt.

    2. Dragon King and Brain Wave may have came to a gentlemanly agreement where Cindy was given to Henry as a reparation, becuase old men think that women are property.

I got that she cloned his phone. I just don’t think he was sharing those naughty pics with his friends

It would seem to be the implication, the first shot after she takes the pictures are his friends looking at his phone and him smiling as she walks down the hall. Unless Cindy regularly scans his phone for pictures why else would she be aware of it to use later?

Just a guess. But time seems a bit wonky here. The JSA seems to date back to the 40's. Brainwave gets in powers in the 70s/80's. Ito was active in the 30's. Probably some life extension going on with both teams. Maybe even some time travel. In the comics the 7 Soldiers retained their youth by jumping from the 40's to 70's after some detours in various eras.

I wonder if there are any plans for Sylvester's fellow Bronze Age recruits to show. Power Girl was popular with Johns in his JSA run. Robin and Huntress might be more problematic. Sand Hawkins is another character I'd like to see.

The prayer by the Makents was interesting. One doesn't often hear a prayer invoking Niflheim (appropriately a land of ice and frost) the in the 21st Century.

Courtney seems pretty unfazed by how old the pictures are, plot convenience, I suppose.

    (perks up, looks around eagerly)

    Did somebody say Power Girl?
