Speaking of sucking the fun out of it...I imagine if season one flounders, they won't waste the money on season two. Lots of projects get greenlit that don't come to fruition.
They may have Season two mostly in the can already.
Mariner's Heart.Season 1 has to have an episode like Spock's Brain.
"According To Jim"?
I got food poisoning at Arby's when I was a kid, I ended up not eating it again for almost twenty years.

This. This is honestly what I want. Star Trek labors too much in its past and is not as inviting to new fans as other franchises. This may be a way to get them involved and enjoy it rather than "Oh, that's what my parents watched way back."There might be some young fans who see it and really allow it to take off. I'd LOVE to see that.

Probably, I think a lot of animated series take a year or two to produce. I wouldn't be surprise if they are at least talking early ideas for Season 3 at this point. They may have Season two mostly in the can already.

This blows my mind. No matter how many times I see it it absolutely blows my mind. I have no doubt that the people who post here are nice enough people (except for those two-you know who you are...Some fans would rather Star Trek die than have a Star Trek that does not live up to their divine expectations.
When they say this show actually occurs in the same Star Trek canon that's been around for 50 years, you're not adding to Star Trek. You're changing it to something that it is not.
