Wow, I'm surprised they took out another member of the ISA so early.
Killing The Wizard's son was a surprise, I liked the way it effected the different characters in different ways. Pat wanted to stop, Courtney became more determined to stop, and his father went after Icicle.
I liked getting to learn about Icicle's motivation, it was not quite what I expected. It's always more interesting when your bad guy has a understandable motivation, even if the way they go about it is completely evil. I'm very curious what exactly his endgame is.

Seems to me Courtney could easily put the question of her father's identity to bed. There's that big standup of Starman in the JSA headquarters, which provides a clear picture of his face. Just take a closeup photo of the face only, cropping out the costume, tell her mom she found the picture online and ask if that's her dad. Surely her mother would recognize him if it was and Pat wouldn't be able to keep denying that's her father.

I suspect they're going for a bait and switch, hence the coyness with the suspiciously blurry photo.
Wild guess; her actual dad is Starman's twin brother and a deadbeat. Who knows, maybe he's even the one that got the JSA killed, which is why he took off that very same night.

In the comics Courtney's father ended up being a common criminal working for the Royal Flush Gang. So maybe they're going to doa play on that subbing out the Injustice Society for the RFG?

I'd that's the case then it's possible that some of the other Seven Soldiers might be floating around, namely 'The Crimson Avenger' and 'Vigilante'.

The Golden Age 'Green Arrow' is probably off the table, so they would have to substitute another archer or 'Golden Age' character.

One character who I would like to see make an appearance is Ted Grant, the original 'Wildcat'.

I know he was supposedly killed in the fight with the Injustice League, but in the comics I believe it was revealed during Geoff Johns run on the 'Justice Society' that he had nine lives and he's only used a few of them.

Which brings up an interesting question. Did Ted Dugan go back to Justice Society's headquarters following the fight with the Injustice League? That's where the final battle took place, correct?

If so, he must have known the location was compromised and he would be risking his life returning there.

If not, he still was taking a great risk returning to the scene of the battle to collect the remains of the JSA and items such as Dr. Fate's helmet and Green Lantern's battery, then going back to JSA headquarters and setting up a shrine/memorial to them.

Which begs the question, why didn't the Injustice Society take them and hide them or try to use them? It seems incredibly short sighted of them not to think that at some point in the future someone might locate JSA headquarters and use them to reform the JSA.

Now that I've typed all of that, I wonder if the writers out any thought into it.

The battle in which the JSA were defeated by the ISA was not fought at the JSA HQ we see in "Icicle".

That battle was fought in California, whereas the JSA HQ we saw in "Icicle" is close to Blue Valley.

She's a baddie that kidnapped either Star man's secret daughter, or someone genetically related, close enough, like maybe a cousin or a neice, and then played the long game waiting for the cosmic staff to wake up, playing house as a good homemaker.

The Golden age Flash is vastly different than Grant Gustin version. And in this case, however , I still would like to see John Wesley Schipp in the role. Even it would be weird to have he and Earth 1 '@s meet for the first time...again.

With Green Arrow...let's just honor the originator of the Arrowverse and make him distinct.

I was explaining why CW would show 2 zfladhes but not 2 Green Arrows. I would like for Stargirl's Flash to be John Wesley Schipp... with some explanation why he is not around but also not dead. He was great in the role and would love to see him again

I watched the first episode (through DVR from CW, so the shortened version). One thing I will say in its favor is that they did a good job casting the main characters (Stargirl and Pat, specifically). They fit what I'd imagine seeing those characters in live action would be like. The episode also had a ton of references that I enjoyed, like the moving company having the modern Action Comics logo mixed in, Starman/Pat having a similar backstory to the comic counterparts (minus the time travel aspect) and the JSA actually looking like the JSA. Its really nice that the modern DC TV shows still mostly aren't afraid to look as much like the comics as is feasible (minus Titans and Doom Patrol), while Marvel TV (in the Loeb era, it will probably be a bit different now) absolutely hated even acknowledging that anyone wore costumes at any point. I was also glad that Courtney knew about superheroes/the JSA, and it wasn't some stupid hidden thing like in LoT.

As for the negatives, its everything I've said before. I hate the premise (JSA gets killed in a situation that would never actually kill them, all so Stargirl can be the super awesome bestest hero ever), the teen/school stuff is both generic (I've seen variations of that cafeteria scene in probably every moive/TV show that has a scene in a school cafeteria) and irritating, and showing the JSA at the beginning just makes the knowledge that the JSA Babies exist that much worse (seriously, based on the character posters the new Doctor Midnight and Hourman look about 8 years old, it would be hilarious if it weren't annoying).

In the end, if they had casted this Stargirl and STRIPE in a JSA series, I'd be pretty happy. As it is, the show is already pretty much dead for me based on its premise and the JSA Babies, although I'll probably watch a bit more to look for references/easter eggs that amuse me if nothing else.
