If that were true, that would have been money he didn't have for his rock monsters. While I've heard that he would mess up takes that were being shot in a way he didn't want, that seems like a whole different scale.

After looking at some screencaps, it is possible the rear platforms were retained, if modified, for the later sets.

As discussed the battle bridge viewscreen wasn't from TMP, but is an interesting piece in itself. I was surprised the other day to see it as late as Voyager's The Raven as, well, the Raven. And they also used it in Dark Frontier. In fact the bridge design they used in DF is really close to the wrecked version in The Raven, which shows great attention to detail.

In actuality, the set would have needed to be heavily refurbished anyway, certainly more extensively than just the new coat of paint and Okudagrams it got at the end of TVH. It had seen a lot of wear and tear over four films (plus its use in TNG's first season). Everyone talks about how the Trek movies were made on the cheap compared to their contemporaries, but TFF ($33MM) saw a significant boost in spending over TVH ($21MM), and it shows in (among other things) the new bridge, extensive location shooting, and construction of two full-size shuttlecraft.

If I'd have finished it, you'd have definitely seen it here! ;)

No, I had to take a break for a minute. It's nearly done, I just have to finish about 20-25 more displays and then model the chairs and captain's chair. I'll be getting around to it eventually! Subscribe to this thread!

I have been absolutely adoring your work on the Enterprise refit and Enterprise-A. I am especially fond of the console and graphic recreations. I am wondering, have you planned on making any animated versions of the non-static display screens? I have dabbled in a bit of that myself.

Yes, I plan on making proper animated video displays for the not static display screens, and many of the "static" display screens have minor animations themselves, as they do in the movie.

What program would you be using to animate them. I have some preliminary ones in Flash (Adobe Animate) and I would be happy to contribute them to the cause ^_^

Adobe Premiere. I'll be creating actual video files to play in-engine, which I've also employed in my Enterprise Refit bridge.

Wait a sec... you actually create/design the displays in Premiere? I wasn't aware Premiere had text and symbol options

Ack! I meant Adobe After Effects. But I create the graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator and then animate them in AE. But I’ve used Premiere to convert them all to movie files I can play in-engine.

Hmm... i should look into that. I have the full Adobe CC, so that includes AfterEffects, but I've been working almost exclusively in Flash (its now called Animate, but I still call it Flash) especially now that it lets you export to .gif and .avi

Yeah--that's Larry Marvick's POV coming out of the lift after he's seen the Medusan ambassador.
