News Coronavirus Pandemic Information and Support Group

I had my hair cut real short a day before the lockdown in my country. I am okay until the next month.

I do my own haircuts now and since I have very short hair this works out just fine for me. Takes about ten minutes and I'm done. It doesn't look as polished as it does when my hairdresser did it, of course - but hey, I wear a baseball cap at all times anyway.

News from Italy, Prime Minister Conte has announced to loosen the lockdown in May. Mind you, Italy had very strict lockdown rules, for obvious reasons, so loosening the lockdown is far from a return to normal.

Now, that is what I call "social-distancing"

Here is another

When someone tells me my mask has penises on it, I kindly let them know this is how I determine they are too close, kindly back the fuck up.

Why is Covid-19 so infectious and social distancing is the best defence for now, before the vaccine is developed.

Some perspective a couple months in. The entirety of my Upstate N.Y. has roughly as many cases as Manhattan Island, & less than a quarter of the fatalities. Downstate has more cases than any other nation on Earth. 84% of statewide fatalities were over age 60, & 89% were people with contributing health issues, mainly high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, & heart disease.

When your hair is getting thinner haircuts are like silent farts. Quick and you barely notice yourself but others often do.

That or to just let it grow out. By the time everything opens up again just think of all the people who can now use their hair as a ponytail or jump rope. Great, now I've got that Cowsills song stuck in my hair... my long, beautiful hair...

Of course, if this were 1968 nobody would notice; regardless of hairline all blokes had a similar ragamuffin 'do going on... and then came disco and nobody changed it...

In fact, thanks to the irony of Super8 film recording, I can prove the lunacy of my previous statement:

There's something to be said about "High Ashbury" and "Human see, human do"... of which it's surprising Devo didn't coin the latter term...

Good information to keep in mind.

Also, it is wise to keep in mind that New York is very much unlike other environments with such a large population, mass transit system, and closer contact. Not every environment is like New York and other countries and states need to make decisions based upon their populations.

@Doctor Tiki

You're writing English. But I really do not understand what you're trying to convey.

Unless .. it's fear of contracting COVID? And this is your way of trying to cope?

Believe me, I know that fear. It keeps me from leaving my apartment everyday ... to do even the mundane things like throwing away my garbage. Just. Be well. Be safe. And I hope we will all be more whole on the other side of this crisis.

Where are you in upstate? I grew up in Albany. Went to college near Rochester, and my parents had a place in the North Country on the St. Lawrence River.

Living, in Queens, I genuinely miss the rest of New York. And am happy that those places have not suffered as we have here in NYC.
