Kurtzman: DS9 characters could appear in Picard

The reappearance of
Icheb
is a good sign. The writers aren't in a 'will the viewers know who this character is" mindset.

Just find a way to easter egg Morn on a bar stool once in awhile

Thought about that, but wasn't sure, if I liked the idea, that Morn isn't in this very special bar on this very special station anymore... but of course, he left Deep Space Nine sometimes...

Fine with me, but does Brooks want to come back as Sisko?

I've been reading never, no way would Brooks return for years and years and years and years after DS9 ended.

Now I'm reading rumors that he could return, certainly the playing field post-Star Trek Picard is different. Maybe watching the What We Left Behind doc swayed his feelings on it. If he does return, I hope it's a more DS9-centric project. ST:Picard flirts with having too many characters already.

Not that he should feel obligated to, but it would be wonderful, absolutely delightful to see Brooks return to the role.

My feeling is that Brooks would only do it if Sisko was central to the story. He would not be interested in coming in to the studio and getting into makeup just to make a little smalltalk as a wave to the fans. Given that the stories are supposed to be mostly about Picard, that seems unlikely, but I guess it could happen.

Brooks doesn't want to go back to the conventions and stuff. According to Behr, Brooks inquired about doing more with Sisko in 2012.

I could see Brooks wanting to return if they gave him a way to send Sisko out on a note he would be more in favor of.

^Yeah, but many people are cutting the cord or have cut it, so Netflix is it, or they buy the DVD season box sets.

Only if they have a believable contribution to the story and not used as member berries.

Fleet Admiral Kira Nerys, commander-in-chief of Starfleet.

I totally called it.

Heh. But she hates paperwork and meetings. (One sympathizes.)

Also suffering from Small World Syndrome, with most of the senior officers after the finale going on to be heads of state, ambassadors, or gods.
