Yes. Not sure its derivation given the DND keeps changing what anything about it is called every few years.
hmcs huron?
You've seriously watched the whole season and you still don't know what Raffi's expertise is? You still think anyone he has with him hates him? They might be angry, and hurt at his past actions, but there's no evidence anyone he has with him hates him. And did you not watch his conversation with his former doctor from the Stargazer? He asked the man to lie for him to certify him to return to space. Do you honestly think that he would get away with asking Beverly to lie to Starfleet about his condition and send him off?
Was he clear about his reasoning for not asking people from TNG to help him out, no. He doesn't need to be because he wasn't talking to us. Will it become clearer once he visits Riker and Deanna, probably.
A cheesy film but fun if not taken seriously. Kate Mulgrew back in her early days. My brother used to collect the novels. Never read them myself but it was a long series.i had to look that up
How many times do people have to tell you that he didn't even expect Raffi to come with him on the ship? It was right there in the episode. Instead of going around and around in circles here, you may want to invest 45 minutes in rewatching the episode. He is ok if Raffi risks herself
Not really. I actually had 17 notifications when I signed in. All from very, very persistent people arguing against my position. I only answered one of them. To avoid repetitive answers. Not sure how I am the one who goes on and on, over and over, when every one of these is a response post to others. Apparently the people responding dont mind going on and on and on as well.I'll give you this, @Tarek71, you are incredibly persistent. Kind of reminds me of O'Brien and Bashir's obsession with acting out the Alamo over and over.
They did, because of Bashir's agumentation, so O'Brien had him stand a couple miles back from the Alamo to even the odds and make sure the reinactment would go as it would if Bashir wasn't augmented, just like their games of darts.
Of course he could ask Crusher to do that. Why wouldnt he be ok with asking Crusher? Of course, it ultimately didnt matter since Clancy declined the request anyway, for other reasons.
I did not say they hate him. I am referring to an amazingly dumb line that, since he cannot ask the people he knows that would do it out of loyalty, he therefore needs to ask those who hate him. I didnt write that line. They did. And it is dumb, lazy writing. And if you buy that he "Abandoned" Salty Raffi and the nuns, why make them the ones he needs to ask favors from? He is ok if Raffi risks herself but not TNG ppl? Why is that exactly? Oh, right! She wouldnt do it out of loyalty...because that is very important. Huh?
Will it become clearer when we see more of them? I certainly hope so. Time will tell.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m afraid of.I have a strong feeling it won’t be done til series 2. And series 2 may be more returning cast heavy. This is the ‘I thought i could do it without you’ series.
Give Elnor more of Chiun's personality. The look on Picard's face as he explains assassination as the highest form of public service. Its worth watching just for Joel Grey's performance. He just about completely stole the film.
yeah, because life is so much easier when nobody dares to challenge nonsense. that also means one can be right all the time, doesn't it?Not really. I actually had 17 notifications when I signed in. Well, challenging nonsense was exactly what I was doing. We are all wrong some of the time. This was not one of those times for me. But, opinions differ.yeah, because life is so much easier when nobody dares to challenge nonsense. that also means one can be right all the time, doesn't it?
she's got a ship? i must have missed that. he did not expect her to come (that's diferent). He did want Raffi to come. That was the point of going to see her. He wanted a pilot and a ship. She is a pilot with a ship. She offers him the name of Rios rather than herself and her own ship. But not because he asked for a different name and ship. Yes, he says he needed her mind, which is not the same thing as not wanting her to come. If anything, that is definitely wanting her to come. Even coming to her with this, could risk her life. He seemed ok with that. But this idea that he clearly did not want her to come is nonsense.
Yawn. No, I dont want TNG season 8, I want writing that isnt dumb and lazy. Which is what this was. They decided on no TNG reunion (thats fine) but that he should still turn to those he knows when in need. That makes sense. But it cant be TNG people because that is the off-screen decision. But they never bothered coming up with an in story reason for that.
Instead he cannot ask them because of course they would! Out of loyalty! Sooooo.....why is that a reason not to ask? That sounds like the perfect people to ask. He did not say "theyre too old" or "they dont have the right expertise". Then comes a line only said because the script says to say it. That he therefore needs people who hate him! Ummm...wut? No, that is definitely not who you need.
So he can ask people he knows to help, but he decides on Raffi and the Romulan nuns? What is Raffi's expertise? Being salty? He can ask her because he needs people who see things differently? What does that even mean? That's the in story reason? And wouldnt Laris have relevant expertise on a mission dealing with Tal Shiar and Zhat Vash operatives?
No, she needs to look after the grapes. And from the nuns he needed someone who is good in a fight? He can't think of anyone who might fit that except the Romulan nuns? Seven and Hugh are involved, since there was a story reason. Ok. I agree. But there are not story reasons for Crusher when he needed someone who knows his medical history and served with him to do and interpret the tests? It is lazy and dumb.
1000x this.I do not need Star Trek to be didactic entertainment for kids in grade 4.
when everybody is against you it's either a conspiracy or most likely you're wrong.Well, challenging nonsense was exactly what I was doing. We are all wrong some of the time. This was not one of those times for me. But, opinions differ.
Well Elfnor can kick ass and take names. Wesley would be useful for other things. I can see wanting some people who can crack skulls, win bar fights and take out Zhat Vash agents. Always handy to have people who can do that. Laris would seem to be a great addition though. She is obviously wasted watching the grapes.she's got a ship? i must have missed that. he did not expect her to come (that's diferent).
he wanted one of those nuns, true. i did see him asking for 'the boy'. if he wanted a boy he might have asked wesley.
