Tasha Yar wearing a TNG uniform with the collar from Season 3 onwards which she never actually wore in the show.

This reminds me of just how poor some of those late figures got in terms of screen accuracy. The Generations figures at least had the excuse of the producers changing the costumes during the first day of filming , eg Playmates had no ability to alter that, but we ended up getting gems such as 'Thomas Riker as seen on DS9', wearing the DS9 jumpsuit with yellow shoulders (a red shoulder would at least have worked as a 'Riker in movie uniform' one), or versions of Crusher also wearing the DS9 jumpsuit... again, one she never actually wears on screen anywhere.

Some real oddities. :D

Oh yeah, that second wave of the DS9 line had some mad headswaps - not only Tom Riker, a year before he actually appeared, but also Picard in DS9 uniform. If you read the bio on the back of the card, it's actually an evil Picard from another universe!

 That's mad! Lol

At least Picard in the DS9 uniform has a precedent on screen, as he wears it in Generations, but yeah, it's like they really started to push the boat out there with a few, like the Dr Crusher in DS9 uniform, which really annoys me in a way, be cause there were still heaps of screen-relevant figures that hadn't been tapped yet.

I seem to recall that the Tasha in Season 3 uniform was supposed to be the alternate Tasha from Yesterday's Enterprise? In which case its double inaccurate: Tasha never wore the S3 uniform, and the uniform she wore in that episode was not the regular one but an alternate with a belt, cuffs and a closed collar! :D

I only recently learned that at the end of the range Playmates was actually going to release an original series bridge playset to go with their TNG one, and a prototype even did the rounds at toy fairs, but it never got released because the licence expired. Pity.

The biggest missed opportunity of the entire line. The cardboard Enterprise that came with the TOS crew just doesn't compare to the released Enterprise D bridge playset.

Normally, this would be closed since it's been over a year since the last post.

Seeing as how we're still technically at "one year" (as in, not 2 yet) I'm going to let it slide, but please don't do it again.

Thanks

Not gonna lie, it was on my feed and I thought it was the more recent Playmates Toys thread. Apologies if mine was the necro @1001001 :)
