Office Christmas party today. I put the over/under of number of people who bring alcohol as the yankee swap gift at 5.
Here is the optimal strategy for getting alcohol at a Yankee swap if you draw an early number. You pick a gift that non drinkers like. So that way, when the non drinker gets the alcohol, they steal it.
Interesting strategy. But since non-drinkers are all unique individuals with their own likes and dislikes, what exactly constitutes "a gift that non drinkers like"?

I daresay that drinkers probably enjoy those things too.
And if those are the kinds of things that are usually given at gift exchanges at work, then I'm working in the wrong place!

No kidding. I've never received diamonds or musical instruments from any Christmas gift exchange at work. And if I did I'd feel guilty for giving a $10 Tim Hortons card in return.
