Sorry, but it’s time for a Christmas thread. Less than three weeks to go.

So what are we all doing? Are you ready? I haven’t started preparing, except for buying Baileys and a dairy free cheese board.

Got the bulk of the presents bought, but not wrapped them yet. (Running a little late on even buying the presents to be honest when compared to the past.).

Planning on sticking the decorations up at the weekend:)

Just like Thanksgiving, we do the usual family dinner/feast on Christmas Day. For the past several years we've been doing a white elephant gift exchange, which is always a lot of fun and doesn't cost much, with up to $20 gift value. My sister usually gets a live tree for the living room, and I've been slowly decorating my own room with ornaments, a nutcracker, and a Christmas village scene.

Tree is up, most of the gifts are purchased and wrapped; might put a string of lights out on the front path today or tomorrow.

Trying really hard to be in the Christmas spirit this year but it is hard. Relatives aren't arriving until a few days after Christmas, so again, we aren't celebrating until days after Christmas. Hubby and I will spend the holiday cooking and cleaning for everyone, even though I'm dealing with chronic pain. If it weren't for my Mom, I probably wouldn't go.

Not much, aside from Christmas Day most of the time I'll be working.

Got the gifts I got for my Tiny Tim (for a Secret Santa event on another forum) put into a box and wrapped up and it's ready to be sent out tomorrow. :)

Been rather busy lately, so I'm behind in terms of decorating for the holidays. Gotta try to do some stuff this week as it's supposed to be in the 30's or so. Hoping the ground thaws enough for me to put in some decorative candy canes.

We don't do a lot of exchanging of gifts in my family. We just have dinner at my brother's house. His wife is a great cook - nobody ever walks away from THAT table hungry. We just have a huge dinner and sit around and talk and drink.

And my youngest niece and nephew use my bald head as a percussion instrument because they think it's funny. Owwwwww.... :ouch:

Amazon has made my Christmas shopping so much easier. I can compare multiple items in seconds, leave them in my cart as I think it over and then ship them in two days. It has saved me a tremendous amount of time & aggravation.

    *SQUEEEEEEEEEE*

    *cough*

Anyway, shopping done, thanks to Amazon. It was November when I put up the lights, the Christmas tree, the stockings, all of the other decorations. I just finished filling out Christmas cards to family last night, and will be mailing them tomorrow. It's all ready, as far as I know.

I both love and loathe this time of year... I love the holiday itself and getting to see friends and family who I don't get to see much, but people start doing some batshit crazy stuff as the date draws closer.

Mainly, I need to help my immediate family plan the menu for Christmas dinner since we have people coming over. I don't buy gifts as much anymore, but try to express the gift-giving sentiment in other ways (taking my two best friends out for dinner instead this year, for example). Not big on the material digs these days...
