I’m sure you could. I on the other hand as much as I would love to refute you at every turn have better things to do with my day. Ta-ta!
While I disagree with much of what you've brought up, you've at least moved beyond Mary Sue and diversity. So, kudos to you.
You know, all the arguments have demonstrated is that there is a severe lack of consistency in these arguments.
Do you find it strange that she was thinking of something which had conditioned her life so far? I'm sorry, but did you ever interact with any actual human being? Errr, never mind...
Rolling Stone did a wide-ranging interview with Kathleen Kennedy where she speaks about many issues, but particularly addresses the backlash from TLJ.
I think she may have brushed off some of the more valid criticisms with "we went dark". comparing it to Temple of Doom isn't necessarily where I would have gone to explain my viewpoint, either. I'm obviously not a fan of the Last Jedi. I maintain there's a good movie in there trying desperately to come out. My main issues were a very hokey space chase, a casino planet chase that didn't really seem plot critical and just a place to throw budget money, and finally and most importantly to me, the mishandling of Luke Skywalker. Other parts worked. It is not a film you get a second chance at. For me it helped me remind me that Star Wars isn't supposed to be an important cinematic event, it's supposed to be a ridiculously fun one: in this it failed. When it tries to get outside of its comfort zone, the seams start popping.
Luke Skywalker was perfect. With that out of the way, the movie went out of its way to troll internet fandom. To me it almost felt like it was breaking the 4th wall several times. I actually enjoyed that aspect, but I could see how some would be offended by it.
