USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

I agree with a lot of this. For me it has always seemed like the design of the show was done backwards for a prequel.

 

Well, maybe alien cultures found them cool. In any case, this is the same Starfleet that thought the Motion Picture uniforms were a good idea.

 

I'm with you here. I'm bothered by the constant inconsistencies in Star Trek, but I find it pointless to try to find 'explanation' to make errors or changes fit. It's not important enough.

 

Just came across this short animation of my favourite fan Enterprise model. Obviously the rendering quality is far below Discovery, but the proportions of this Enterprise are, IMO, perfect:

 

I thought I recognised that Enterprise mesh. It's our very own @Madkoifish

 

Those nacelle pylons aren't my thing but they'd be a lot better in shape and size than the ones used on DSC.

 

More our erstwhile MKF. He swore off the site three years ago thanks to its aggressive advertising policies.

He still posts at other forums, and is a fixture in the Ships of the Line calendars.

In a side note, If Season 3 is gonna be all “make the federation great again”, it would be cool to see part of their “rehabilitation” being building a new flagship, Enterprise-S (or whatever letter their up to)

 

My guess is they are now using alien alphabets. I look foward to seeing the Enterprise-Blork
