Arrow - The Final Season

That trailer actually makes it look like the final season will have action and adventure and a focus on characters that aren't Felicity, all while having Oliver not quit being the Green Arrow every five minutes. Its almost like we-re back in the golden age of Arrow, pre-Season 4. I'll definitely going to watch (I got stuck trying to watch last season, but a quick wiki read is enough to catch me up to where the final season starts). I watched all of Season 1 as it aired, so it even if this didn't look good I'd probably want to watch the last season for old times sake.

Ugh, I don't like the elitism of the Monitor's speech in that clip. Heroes don't put themselves above other people, they put themselves at other people's service. Hopefully Ollie, Barry, et al. will correct the Monitor's misconception.

I am sure I am not the only one wondering about major retcon. The Flash established that Robert Queen was the Hood on Earth 2.

Well, if Earth-2 (R.I.P.) experienced as many tortuous plot convolutions as Earth-1 Arrow did over the years, half a dozen people have probably been the Hood by now. :p

I’m confused. Isn’t Laurel’s Earth Earth2? If so then Oliver’s dad should be the GA.

I love the concept of this season; with him sliding to other universes to face the big bad but do we really need that future story? The characters and story are simply not interesting. That time should be given into exploring these new Earths.

Plus, there was no yellow tint and at least Starling City had neither the advanced tech nor aesthetic of Central City. Will take some thought to reconcile Arrow’s Earth-2 with The Flash’s incarnation.

That is fairly easily explained. Central City is just more advanced due to their Harrison Wells. Though it just occurred to me, does that mean he is erased along with his daughter Jesse Quick? Though with her Speed abilities she could be on another Earth.

Marc Guggenheim answered that question about Robert Queen on Twitter. Saying so many people have worn the Hood on Earth 1, why assume Earth 2 would be different?

They did avoid directly mentioning his death. Nor did Moria or Malcolm have a chance to explain their marriage. So I guess it works.

That ending was a huge surprise. And I see why they saved the Arrow premiere for this week -- it had to come after The Flash introduced the idea of the antimatter wave and the destruction. They set it up in the first hour and paid it off in the second, in two different shows.

I did not expect them to wipe out Earth-2, the first and most-established parallel world. It's a good point -- what does this mean for Harry and Jesse? Not to mention Grodd and Gorilla City? In the comics' Crisis, did any of the destroyed worlds get restored at the end?

As for the main story, it's kind of convenient how Oliver's mission for the Monitor to save the multiverse is apparently going to involve alternate versions of his own life experiences. I mean, I doubt that's just for this week, given what's been teased.

Damn. That was the best episode of Arrow in years! Or should I say, it was the first time in years I didn't pull out my phone while watching Arrow.

And the 2040 stuff was the best thing about last season. I have no problem with them continuing it.
