The reverse, I'd have thought; Blessed had starred in Z Cars and done episodes of The Avengers, etc, while Shrapnel was just starting out (he'd been in three episodes of Elizabeth R, but otherwise this was one of his first key screen roles, after the inevitable supporting parts).Wonder what credit difference between guest star and guest artist.
Just watching Death's Other Domain and Brian Blessed is listed as guest star and John Shrapnel is "guest artist".
Was Shrapnel the bigger name of the two at the time?
It was that screening that tipped the BBC off that the American producers still had copies. Until then it was Missing Believed Wiped.I saw Moonbase 3 on cable once -- probably The Sci-Fi Channel while it was still called that. It wasn't the best thing ever, but I liked it because it tried to be grounded and realistic and to go more for drama than action and spectacle, unlike most SFTV. It was the diametric opposite of Doctor Who's fantasy.
Abides nicely by the Trek movie 'rule', the even episodes tend to be better.Curiosity led me to search for M3 on Youtube. All 6 episodes are there. Handsome looking series for the time period.

I just ordered the DVD set of this. Curious to see what Letts and Dicks left Doctor Who to do. Based on reviews, I'm setting my expectations low!just watched the first episode of Moonbase 3. Just wonder how it could have gone with the budget of Space:1999 instead of the BBC.
And I think at least one seats from the shuttle turned up in Blake's 7![]()
Space: 1999 gets discussed at 6:19
"The Troubled Spirit" is completely stupid and makes no sense—there's a plant seance!
Where'd you find it? Was looking on Amazon to no avail.I just ordered the DVD set of this. Curious to see what Letts and Dicks left Doctor Who to do. Based on reviews, I'm setting my expectations low!
Amazon UK. I have a region free player.Where'd you find it? Was looking on Amazon to no avail.
Gotcha, thanks.Amazon UK. I have a region free player.
Still surprised, thought it went for silly prices now!Gotcha, thanks.
Well, recent discoveries about plant root messaging make it less unlikely. But Bergman's comment about knowing plants have nervous systems and minds is still a big "WHAT???"A very '70s idea, both the speculation about plants having feelings/sentience and the fashion for mysticism and seances.
I saw one listed on Amazon US for $700 or so! Reasonably priced on Amazon UK. Although, only a few were left. Got mine for $50-ish including international shipping.Still surprised, thought it went for silly prices now!
Well, seeing what else they've worked on will be worth it.It's worth seeing, but not sure I'd pay 50.
BTW, Letts and Dicks made it between seasons (to be precise, between Time Warrior and Dinosaurs), not after Who.
