New Picard Trailer

There may have been “the big one”, tectonically, in those hundred fifty years, that pushed up a distant mountain range. It may have also destroyed a number of the taller buildings in the Bay Area, which would explain the drastic skyline difference as well.
No, it's probably still there. The Pike era shot shows much more fog and overcast than Picard's.

"Data's hairline is wrong!"
"The uniform doesn't fit right!"
"The shuttlebay on the Enterprise-D is incorrect!"

I'm sorry for being rude. Not to say that I'm surprised at the nitpicking, but....really?

Details matter. Little things that fans notice and are an easy fix should not be a problem for the people doing the work. Also the eyes look like lemons. The real estate eyes were more natural in appearance. Maybe it's just because it's a dream but we will see.

I'd argue that visual details are far less important than story details. There is a line, yes, but in my opinion, these are minuscule. And Star Trek has been guilty of fouling up little details like this before.

Yet I’m a fan and I didn’t have a problem with any of it.

I like the new trailer even more than the previous one, which was already great imo. The waiting for the show has become harder than before.

Well, they're not big deals, but it is perfectly fair to point them out. And it is not like we can critique the story, as we don't yet know how it will be. But considering that superficial details like these are the biggest complaints people have at this point, they seem to be doing pretty well. I hope it remains that way.

I just wonder where they've been keeping them all this time. Like, is there a storage depot filled with old Romulan ships? Granted, we only see one, but still. :D
Why can't it be a new ship with a design influenced by the 23rd Century BOP? It's not a note for note reproduction of the TOS model.

It's too similar. Like if someone would make a new car that looked almost exactly like model T Ford. Now it is not necessarily the exact same type than one seen in TOS, but it is a close variant of that, so definitely a 23rd century design. I'm sure that in the story it is supposed to be an old ship. They intentionally chose a design that most fans would instantly associate with an earlier era.

I'd argue it's exactly what I'd expect a Romulan Bird of Prey to look like if TOS were modernized.

I continue to like what I see of PIC.

It's not the "exploration & discovery"-storyline I wish of a main Star Trek series. But it works perfectly as a character continuation piece to a former main series.

I have many things that stand out - both positively and negatively - from the trailers, and others where I simply don't know what they mean yet (the androids? the old BoP?). The vfx look a bit disappointing so far, but the overall meat - the characters and the story - looks absolutely fine!

I DO love seeing our former heroes continuing a normal life. Not being broken, just retired, before being thrust back into action.

You can store a lot of stuff in space. Hell, someone threw the entire universe in it.

In regards to old stuff in use: Paraguay. Paraguay still uses tanks that predate WWII.

I really liked the new trailer. I was excited to see Data in that dream scene and the mysterious figure who's in the painting. I'm really curious about the androids in that brief scene. I'm so glad they had Riker and Deanna Troi in this preview. And their child too. I'm curious about the Seven nine and the person she's holding. And the Romulan character Narek spying on Dahj.

We've also actually seen a Federation Starship Junk yard with old model starships just sitting around waiting to be stripped down for parts or even refurbished enough to be useful again.

I remember mentioning this, but I don't remember if it was in this thread or not, but I think the painting in the dream is of Dahj

It's a representation of a hooded female figure, the face is actually not painted in yet.
(and it has unusually long arms)
Depending on where this sequence is in the series, it could be any of the ladies Picard has known.
Including Beverly, the BORG Queen or even Dahj.
We won't know for sure till it airs.
