New Picard Trailer

New theory. Starfleet is working with those Romulans on the Borg ship to experiment on Borg drones in order to create artifical life for their new androids. Dahj escapes and we find out she is special because she is android who is very human and less robotic than Data and more like the cylons on new BSG. She also has some of Data's memories but she is confused because her brain is more human than just circuits and hardware. Starfleet or part of Starfleet is going to villians because they are trying to create android slaves. Jason

The only thing I’m ever so slightly disappointed by is the ill-fit of the uniforms in the dream sequence. The way the collar bunches up at the back of Spiner’s neck feels...lazy. I’m really surprised they let that slip thought.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, I'm going to guess it looks off on purpose to heighten the fact that it isn't real.
Just as loose as the guy's at HQ

Maybe they googled and saw this, and didn't bother to check further XD

Yeah the uniform on Data looks really bad. Can’t they afford to get him a fitted one? Im a bit confused why they're fighting 23rd century Romulan ships, unless that’s what they’re going for them in this which would be hilarious since that would be better fitted for Discovery than here.

So I re-watched this and the original trailer, couple things of note.

Data appears to be wearing different uniform/clothing in the original trailer, so either he changes outfits in various dreams or the variation we saw in the first trailer was something else. Picard also appeared to be wearing civilian clothing in that one, lending more credence that the first version is either a holodeck or something else.

When we meet Allison Pill's character in the second trailer, shes shown in a large lab with a box in the middle. In the first trailer that box is revealed to have the parts to a Soong type android. So the fact that she then joins the crew and talks about how the work with the android means everything to her seems to indicate some kind of android connection with the mystery lady. Why else would Picard seek out a Doctor that specializes in Soong type androids.

We"ve seen to smash cuts of various ships over a red planet. In the second one they mystery ships appears to be destroying what looks like a Federation space station, the aesthetics are vaguely that of Earth space dock.

I also was thinking about the dream sequence at the beginning of the second trailer. We see Data making a paining of what looks like a woman, it in incomplete. He asks Picard If he would like to finish the painting. If we want to get metaphorical about dreams, and pair it with the other indicators, it does seem to point towards the mystery woman being Lal or some form of her.

I also saw a DSC era shuttle flying outside of the Admirals windows.

Maybe these old Phasers / Shuttles are sold to the public like modern day Military Surplus.

Ergo the archaic tech is reused instead of destroyed.

In fairness, how much do shuttles have to change over time though. Once you get a design right, there isn't much to change. Apart from different brakes and gearing mechanisms, bicycles haven't changed much since the 1880's. Rockets are still long thin things with a pointy bit on one end and a nozzle or nozzles on the other end. I could see shuttles not changing much.

You would think shuttles would eventually be phased out and be replaced by Runabouts. Jason

Don't think I've seen anyone here commenting on what Raffi says to Picard in the scene where it looks like he's come to her for help. "Another top secret, unauthorised rescue mission." Could be a big hint there at what went down all those years ago.

We see another Discovery-era shuttle. It is landing on a desert planet. In another scene, we see more modern shuttles buzzing around.

For me, the best moment in the trailer was the reunion of Picard with Riker and Troi. Nice to see they are still a couple.

I hope that Riker is still an Starfleet officer
The more interesting play would be to show Picard, Riker, Troi, Crusher, and GLF all hugely disenfranchised with Starfleet, despite the latter's outwardly display of revere towards them (As shown by the E-D holo).

I think it's a foregone conclusion that there will be a lot of background noise implication of the cracks that will inevitably lead to what Disco ends up with.

I wonder if its going to be a Measure of a Man style thing and gaining sentience etc.?
