New Picard Trailer

My first thought was museum pieces, like BattleStar Gallatica was in its show (or about to be). When your planet explodes, you kinda have to take whatever relics you still have around.

So that's whatever outer system junk yard, military collector and used-WarBird dealership the surviving Romulans still had. The survivors wouldn't have much choice in what was left.

I think its a commentary as well as how much the Romulan Star Empire has regressed.

The Romulans could have upgraded these old ships with Borg tech to make them a thousand times more deadly. I think the fleet these new Romulan Imperialists will be using will be pretty fearsome, we know they have the tech to build deadly warships like the scimitar, having old and new upgraded ships will make for an interesting fleet.

Other random trailer observations/speculations:

0:50 - There's what appears to be vacuum-seal cork on the table next to the wine bottle. Otherwise, Picard powered through 2/3 of a bottle on his own!

0:53 - Did Starfleet Headquarters move across the bay to the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge? That looks to be facing north.

1:04 - Picard is walking with one of the androids similar to F8.

1:13 - Escalators still exist in the late 24th century!

1:52 - Green nacelles on the Romulan BOP (Borg tech enhanced?)

2:04 - 7 seems to be shooting up a bar (drinks behind her and tables to the right).

2:18 - Riker and Troi's house is probably in Alaska?

Looks more like it's in Kirk's Nexus kitchen.

What I remember from Balance of Terror is that those ships were made out of plaster, it would disintegrate and rain down from the ceiling after every phaser hit.

Interesting. I had a similar thought.

The only thing I’m ever so slightly disappointed by is the ill-fit of the uniforms in the dream sequence. The way the collar bunches up at the back of Spiner’s neck feels...lazy. I’m really surprised they let that slip thought.

Giving the benefit of the doubt, I'm going to guess it looks off on purpose to heighten the fact that it isn't real.

It's still hard to piece together what the series is about since so much appears to be going on.

It's clear that a young girl is coming to Picard for help and his first inkling is to go to Starfleet. Since Starfleet seems to have no interest in helping Jean-Luc, he has to take matters into his own hands and that's how he winds up with the new ragtag team.

How the Borg, Romulans, Seven of Nine, and Hugh fit into all of this is really a big mystery. It's hard for me to even theorize what their roles in all of this are. But, that's why I have to tune in! :D

My thoughts exactly.
Everything in a dream is usually exaggerated or 'off' in some way.
Like how Data only has black, white and a couple of shades of green pigment on his paint palette, yet the painting also contains shades of blue and pink.
Or how the figure in the painting has no face yet appears to be complete in every other way.
(also the exaggerated length of the figures arms)
Or even how Data's uniform seems ill-fitting and of course his features aren't how we actually remember them.
Then you have the dream jumping back and forth between Data and the battle that becomes so jarring that Picard wakes up.

I wonder if perhaps They might even mention the Irumodic Syndrome from "All Good Things" is effecting him.

Not to mention it's happening in the same spot where Geordi met up with Picard at the beginning of "All Good Things", so it's a callback.

I hope it's not Irumodic Syndrome, though. Or hopefully it's only in the very early stages. So that it's at a point where Starfleet has reason to doubt him, but not to the point where we as viewers have reason to doubt him.

If They do mention it, I'm hoping that it's something that is only fleetingly effecting him, but Star Fleet sees it as a problem so that's another reason why the Admiral reject's his request.

I think Dagh is Data in some fashion. Maybe a Borg drone with Data's memories. Look at the name. Da short for Data. G for girl and H for human. Or one that is Data and Hugh's memories merged togeter. GH being the last letters in Hugh. Jason
