Well Filoni is an executive producer for the project. And the events of this series take place after the ending scene of Rebels...so it could happen.

Could we be getting live action versions of the Rebels of Rebels? Wouldn't that be cool?

    Well, we already got one...

It would be nice if they were planning to change/add some of this stuff digitally in postproduction. That's what I'm hoping for.

Lucasfilm, do you need a Feige?

I don't know if they could, but it would be cool if they did this and actually used the voice actors for the live action versions. I'm not sure how well the ages would line up for Ezra & Taylor Gray, or Sabine & Tiya Sircar, but I could see Vanessa Marshall as Hera and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan. Especially Vanessa Marshall since she'd be covered by the Twi'lek makeup.

Kanan would be very dead by The Mandalorian's time frame.

The more interesting one would be Ashoka.

Well, the show I assume takes place after Ahsoka and Sabine are seen departing at the end of Rebels, so they probably won't show up.

One thing is for sure though...we will see Ahsoka again in some form. You can take that to the bank.

Why not? The epilogue of Rebels can't take place more than a year or two after The Battle of Endor based upon Jacen Syndulla's apparent age. The Mandalorian takes place five years after Endor. We don't know how long Sabine and Ahsoka end up looking for Ezra and what the outcome is of their search.

Oh, right I forgot about that, I haven't actually seen the last season or Rebels yet. I did read about the end though.

Now I have an image in my head of Force Wolf laying down by a sitting Bendu, who is petting the Wolf. It's a damn awesome image!

This is a big-budget ($100m) series - they're going for general audiences who've never watched TCW/Rebels, and therefore wouldn't give a rat's ass about Ezra, Ashoka, or any of those earnest, goody-goody characters appearing, assuming they recognized them at all. The series also sounds like a deliberate departure from Force users and their world; to bring them in would be to miss the point.

Mara Jade or Talon Kaarde, OTOH, would be more plausible...

True. I agree. Additionally, wouldn't fit with what all indications seem the tone of the Mandalorian will be.

Except, by your own argument, Mara Jade is a force user and tied to the "main events" of the galaxy -Palpatine, Luke, etc.

More importantly, both of those characters suck.

The show wouldn't have to delve into that, though. It could merely present her as an independent rogue who happens to have some abilities (and no lightsaber!) that she tries not to get caught using. I don't think we've ever seen that in live-action SW, so it could be a cool angle.

Well, I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong, and who would that benefit? I mean, I know Mara is somewhat controversial, but who doesn't like Kaarde? A principled smuggler who's unusually concerned about his employees, yet strictly apolitical could make for an interesting contrast in a part of the galaxy in which everyone's out for themselves.

Mara is a character from the old EU which Disney discarded. Why would she be included at all? Doesn't that kind of miss the point in a big way? Her story was fundamentally tied to Luke, and Luke's backstory is now different.
