The reason I'm excited for this: He's worked (as director) with composer John Debney on a number of projects. Debney (along with Don Davis) did some of televisions finest scoring on the first season of "Seaquest". His "The Orville" scores have been great, though not as invigorating and exciting as his "Seaquest" work, but if Star Wars can inspire him, I'm all for this.
As long as it chronicles the adventures of Buddy the Jedi and stars Will Farrell, I'm in! "You're not Master Yoda! You sit on a throne of lies!...."
The show will be set 7 years after the Battle of Endor. https://screenrant.com/jon-favreau-star-wars-tv-series-timeline/
Cautiously optimistic but it's gonna require a Disney streaming subscription, isn't it? I wish they'd put Dave Filoni in charge of the live action Star Wars series - that guy really seems to get SW.
I wonder if we'll see any crossover between this and Resistance? I'm happy to see this is after the OT, I was hoping we'd get a deeper exploration of the era now that TLJ is out.
I wonder if we'll see Iden Versio at any point. For that matter, a question for experts...has a SW character created for a game ever crossed over into filmed media before?
Resistance is only a few years before TFA, as the Resistance wasn't formed until a few years before TFA. So if there is crossovers it would be of younger versions of older characters. As far as I know, no characters have. At least one ship has though, the Sentinel Class Landing Craft added to the Special Edition of 'A New Hope', first appeared in the 'Shadows of the Empire' video game. But it is entirely possible the ship was designed for the Special Edition first, like the YT-2400 was.
^ A budget that size makes sense for this 'universe'. The VFX is going to be EXPENSIVE (and time consuming). Digital landscapes, space ships, space shots and battles, digital scene extensions .... pricey stuff that kills most TV budgets. Q2
