News Star Trek: Discovery Season Two On Blu-Ray And DVD

Dude, take the hint. This thread isn't all about your pet crusade to convert people. You made your point, ad nauseam, and not everyone was buying. That doesn't make you wrong for trying originally, but it does become wrong to keep pushing it. So either stick to the original topic and stop derailing the thread, or I'm going to have to remove you from the topic.

Well, the topic is simply that DSC S2 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD, so it’s reasonably on-topic that the latter is not only obsolescent but also priced higher than it’s worth. So everyone, if you can avoid it, don’t buy DSC on DVD and let the format disappear. That would be a brief summary of the discussion so far.

How about people buy what they want?

I think Boris has me on ignore.

I've got a Stargate for sale cheap, if anybody is interested.

Doing your own thing is much better than buying any prerecorded source.

I'm looking forward to December when I will buy Discovery season two on DVD.

In fact, I might buy two copies on DVD.

I'll buy it on Blu-Ray for the extra features and because what we're watching on CBSAA is Discovery in a compressed format.

I'm also a product of my time, for better or worse. I don't believe in having everything be at the mercy of the computer. Including what I watch. I still believe that physical copies are the best way to go.

Agreed. When the internet crashes (as it inevitably will) I will be laughing at all those people who have turned their lives over to it so completely that they can't function without it.

What these arguments are starting to sound like Khan for Into Darkness. Destroy all formats considered inferior.

What this is starting to sound like is that you have no problem comparing obsolescent technology to people threatened with extinction, which is some serious and offensive emotional investment in a format made by people for entertainment until the same or different people invent something better.

So anyway, yeah...Discovery season 2 on Blu-ray and DVD, huh? That's cool. I'll definitely pick it up, even though I thought the season dipped pretty sharply towards the end. A little bummed to see only two Short Treks on there, but no doubt the others will shop up eventually in some way that costs us a little extra dough. ;)

Hopefully the extras are a little better than season 1 too, which were mostly okay but just a little too self-congratulatory for my taste. Personally, I am more into the actual process of making the show and less into people talking about how groundbreaking something is.

Still happy to add this to my collection, which isn't missing anything so far. :)

In addition to the fervor with which you approached the format debate, you apparently have issues with taking things like his obvious joke too seriously. Since you refuse to follow the repeated requests to back off and return to the topic, your contributions in this thread will no longer be needed.

Reply ban from thread.

Other posters please just move on without comment.

Unfortunately, when it crashes, it will likely take the power grid with it.

I am surprised that the Short Treks don't have their own release, actually. Maybe as there are more of them. but I see that as a rather easy marketing tool for volumes of Short Treks.

Does it have all nine chevrons? Do you deliver?
All Nine are present, but you'll have to initiate the last one on yer own.
(that's why the sale price)

If you pay in cash, I can have it on your doorstep in seven to ten days.

(just about long enough to do a Harry Mudd Impression and be on the other side of the galaxy by then)

I'm sensing a way for CBS to continue to gouge ... um ... get the most from Their efforts.

Release a couple on each Season of one of the shows and then eventually release the Shorts as a "Collection" on its own.
:shifty:

Just like they did with the
Borg collection.

Reply ban from thread.
After conferring with the poster, the reply ban on him is now lifted, with the stipulation that the subject remains the content of what's on the DSC S2's home release rather than arguing about the formats it's released on. Everyone please stick to the topic and don't provoke old arguments. Thank you.
