For a few seconds there I thought someone at FX screwed up and started airing an episode of The Shield right in the middle of Legion..

This episode was the trippiest episode since Chapter Six with the shared Clockwork hallucination. I was particularly fascinated by the different time dilations each of the characters experienced, no matter how confusing the whole thing was.

I loved the little side adventure Farouk, Kerry, and Clark went on outside of time in order to properly fight the Time Eaters. The depiction of those scenes various photographs of different style and quality reminded me of the old black and white photographs used in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and its sequels, which only heightened the experience for me.

The Time Eaters themselves were creepy as hell as if they were skipping seconds with each movement. Their creepiness was elevated when I realized they looked like the Blue Meanies from Yellow Submarine (and this isn't even the first time the show has visually referenced that terrific film).

My heart broke for Lenny as she watched Salmon give birth to Violet and then saw Salmon cease to exist and Violet rapidly life her life right in front of Lenny's eyes. Lenny has done some terrible things for and to David, but she didn't deserve to experience that. :(

Syd's conversation with her younger self, trying to understand who she is and who she will become, was a quieter heartbreak, especially as she tried unsuccessfully address how David betrayed their love and raped her. I was intrigued, albeit unsurprised, how she tied that experience with how younger Syd body swapped with her mother and walked into the shower of her mother's boyfriend. Even before it happened, I was curious to know what would happen if the two of them touched each other, although I suppose we didn't get a proper answer as it turned out that a Time Eater was was posing as younger Syd (at least in that moment).

I liked how David had another chance to reach out to his mother, if only in a Holocaust prison (although it seems unlikely that she would have her own cell) and Gabrielle thought David was crazy just like her. I wonder if he managed to reach her in his pleas to stop Charles from traveling to Farouk and caused a change in the timeline (or create another parallel timeline like we saw in the second season). I'm not surprised that after initially having no luck against them, David was able to destroy a Time Eater with ease. If he's able to fight them off, then perhaps Syd's supposition that David unleashed the Time Eaters (willing or unwillingly) into the timestream causes the end of the world is wrong.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who thought that.

Maybe they misunderstood when someone said it would be cool if SHIELD appeared on Legion.

I absolutely loved the scene when David took out the time demon. That's one of the best scenes of the whole series. This one was my favorite episode so far this season, with the premier at second place.

Oof. This was a brutal episode.

Lenny killed herself out grief for the losses of Salmon and Violet.

Daniel, Clark's husband, has mind wiped of all of his long-term memories.

Clark is thrown out into space.

Kerry is most likely dead from David's psychic blast.

And poor Syd, trying to be the hero and take down David but underestimating his mental decay, has her own mind torn apart by David.

Now David and Switch head back into the past with a new plan to "fix" everything. It's unlikely they'll succeed with the Time Eaters on their trail. And even if they do succeed, it'll most certainly not have the results David wants.

When Lenny killed herself, that was definitely a holy shit moment and a bummer. Then with Daniel getting mindwiped I was thinking shits really hitting the fan. Clark getting spaced, now I'm thinking ok, we'll be focusing on the major characters from here on out. Then after Syd's mindwipe and Kerry getting walloped, I'm guessing time travel reset for everyone next week. Can't really have a show with virtually every character dead or incapacitated.

Well...there are only three episodes left so I think anything is possible at this point.

It's a shame we haven't seen Melanie or Oliver this season. Maybe we'll get a surprise appearance as the end draws near.

I wanted to be vague since you may be avoiding next week promos which I do sometimes but Melanie and Oliver look to play a prominent role in the next episode.

Does anyone have Syd's full "People get inside you" quote to her younger self in Chapter 23? It was awesome.

I usually avoid the promos, but I couldn't resist clicking on the spoiler box. Good to know they're returning!

I absolutely loved this episode. It was wonderful to finally catch up with Oliver and Melanie in their idyllic little fairy tale in the astral plane, separate from the real world. I really enjoyed the the fascinating story of how Syd slowly recovered from what Legion did to her mind and how she ended up living a whole other life (or at least whole other childhood) in a period of twenty minutes. Now she's back in the real world, teaming up with the severely hurt (but alive!) Kerry and Cary. I can't wait for next week's episode. Should be crraazzzy (more than usual!).

I also loved seeing Jason Mantzoukas popping up as Jerome the Big Bad Wolf, chewing up the scenery every second he was on screen. :D

Also very cool: Bringing back all three of the young actresses who've played Syd in previous episodes for this episode.

To each their own. I loved it.

    I said out, dammit!
The Dickensian Dystopia (™) made me want to turn it off and go do something useful. Still not sure it had anything to do with anything. Looked for David Lynch's name in the credits. Well, if I wanted non-challenging linear plots I wouldn't be watching this.

I'd never seen that guy before.

The parts that didn't rhyme bugged me, and the ending is basically just Oliver saying, "Well, no one likes you, so there".

Then you're missing out! He's hysterical in everything I've seen him in, especially The Good Place and Parks and Recreation.
