Open Speculation about "Star Trek: Picard"

I'm done. Don't argue with fools, on lookers might not be able to tell the difference
On topic -
Trailer looked pretty good, especially considering Kurtzman involved lol

I still want to see more, but for now, they most certainly have my attention after that trailer. And what we know of the guest appearances. I'm interested to see who else they bring in, because you know we haven't seen them all yet.

I have a lot of friends who were TNG Fans who were blown away by the trailer. Disco doesn't factor into it. Though, some of have told me they want to watch DSC. My plan worked. I planted the seed in their head, hyped it up, and now that they want to see it, I'll make some converts.

My approach is usually to wait for just the right moment.

Agreed, I'm buoyed by Mr. Stewart. Don't feel he do a weak project at this stage. Certainly not just for $$, so like you I'm interested, but need to see more

For no other reason than they're resurrecting Picard this show will have a large initial audience. I always liked the idea from way back when it was first confirmed, I was just worried what it was going to be about. The trailer has an interesting enough premise to it and is NOT what I expected, so that's good.

Watching the trailer made me wonder about a few things.

I think the woman Picard is worried about might be from the Hugh faction of the Borg. If she was born during the first years after "Descent", that would make her about the right age now. If the Romulans occupying the Borg Cube are after her, she might have something they want. And they might have something she wants. If she seeks Picard for help, it might not just be because of Picard's experience as Locutus. He also has experience with the Borg and the Romulans.

I also think Picard will get nowhere with the Admiral he's meeting with. She'll either patronize him and tell him what she thinks he wants to hear, she'll give a polite non-answer, or whatever measures she orders won't be enough. But basically, I think it's Picard's one stab at going through the proper channels before he realizes it doesn't work.

Not sure how I feel about the Borg being in this show. The writers definitely should not do a Locutus subplot. That arc should have ended with First Contact.

However, a side plot with Seven and Hugh would be cool.

Where is that from? Was it in the trailer?

Pause it at the 1:02-mark. "This facility has gone 5,843 days without an assimilation." It seems like a Borg Cube the Romulans seized control of. You can also see what look like alcoves behind the Romulan Guards.
