Ah. The show is about celebrating Y24K.
I want that on a t-shirt!They're going to party like it's 2399.
Whoops...That'd be Y2.4K.
Y24K would be the Year 24,000, which I think Discovery is jumping to in Season Five after spending some time rebuilding the Great and Bountiful Human Empire in 9999.
It looked kind of blury like maybe Borg vision. Maybe girl connected to a Picard memory because of Locutus implant. Plus one character might have been a kid ox the Enterprise. Maybe the one who is a drunk thus a childhood memory through though the haze of alcohol. JasonAm I the only one that thinks that the banner is nothing more than a holodeck projection? And that this is the same scene where Picard meets Data (another hologram) for a game of poker? I mean, that does seem like the most logical conclusion based on the evidence we have so far... right?
Even though I'm Team Disco, after today I think Team Picard would make good allies. Some of us might disagree about Discovery but I think if we can just accept where we stand "is what it is" and look passed it, we can work together pretty well in regards to Picard and in general. I can see this happening.
How about it?
Unless you work for CBS, Bad Robot or Secret Hideout, my speculation is as good as your speculation. Stop telling people they're straight out wrong, because you have no more idea than any of the rest of us. Plus, it's killing the fun vibe.
A video on YouTube said it, so it must be true.
In the same shot as the banner you can see some of the awards that were on show at the Picard museum display, so it’s more likely to be Picard that has the banner.

I have to wonder if Tim Russ and the group behind Star Trek: Renegades (which was supposedly pitched years ago when they crowdfunded it), will raise any issues legally as the set up for this show is a lot like what they did. (Hell, Patrick Stewart says: They're not Starfleet...think of them as renegades.")
Also, the description next to Picard's farm outfit at the art gallery said it was 2399, and Picard says at the start that's been 20 years since Nemesis, which was 2379.In this video, they says it's 2399, I believe.
While I take this point, we also know there have been rethinks/reshoots along the way, and that aspects of what has been revealed so far have been somewhat in contrast with Stewart's "very rigid rules". At this stage, 4 of the 7 TNG main cast have been confirmed, alongside one former guest actor who appeared three times on TNG as a very prominant (and, like 7, potentially plot important, given what we know) character, and one cast member from Star Trek: Voyager. Whatever Stewart's original demands, it appears there have been some compromises along the way.
I'm not suggesting I want fan service, or even if fan service is a particularly good thing. But at this stage, given what has been revealed so far, I honestly don't think we can rule anything out...![]()
Technically we already have one as ST: D is now in the 33rd century. So if the show goes past two seasons it will be the 25th century. We have a subforum crisis!
Can't discern too much from the trailer but honestly a lot of red flags. This just looks frankly like more Kurtzman/bad robot crap, dark tone and cinematography, mystery boxes, S31, heavy "tomb raiding" nostalgia, action, action, action, "the fate of the entire galaxy, she's the destroyer!!!" Over the top stakes. This looks like more Discovery honestly than anything to do with TNG.
I wish I was exciterd, but it's everything I would expect from Kurtzman. The fact I watch this trailer and think "meh looks kinda bad" is not a good sign, I LOVE the TNG crew and Picard is a real role model for me and this is doing nothing.

Why use that when Discovery has instantaneous travel?I wonder if ships in the ST:P era will be equipped with Quantum Slipstream drive, or whether that'll be entirely brushed under the carpet (or perhaps still under research by Starfleet R&D).

There's always a pick up shot or reaction shot or two here and there. NOTHING major. With pre-vis nothing much is left to chance. Some directors might get everything done during their block, but it's during the editing where the need might arise and they are quick and easy to do. Nothing like a rewrite situation.Traditionally, TV shows were filmed and completed a few weeks before airing. In the age of binge-streaming, that's no longer the case but by and large filming is done in "chronological" order of intended broadcast. I doubt there would be much done in reshoots, if any, for this show.
