As long as we get Star Trek: Garak, dealing with the Cardassian reconstruction, I'd be fine with this approach.

I wonder if Andrew Robinson is in good health and would be willing to reprise his role? He's 77 y/o and doesn't have anything on his filmology past 2016

Maybe she has some super special nanoprobes that came from another place and another time, say 350+ years in the future. They might have arrived on a probe of some kind.

Andrew voiced Garak in Star Trek Online last year and it was great, so he's still got the voice at least.

It's always been a prequel, and never a reboot.

Did we get anything else on Lower Decks beyond some character art?

Because it is a silly concept on its face. DSC and ENT were willing to work within the sphere that TOS set up.

I love "Mirror, Mirror" and most of the DS9 outings (more on the "most" part later). But the Terrans were in a fundamentally different spot in DS9, so DSC is the first time we get to see the Mirror Universe Terrans in all their lethal TV-MA glory without any '60s trappings.

The only Mirror Universe entries I truly didn't like were "Resurrection", which only partially counts since Bariel is the one who crossed over into the regular universe, and "The Emperor's New Cloak", which I thought was total shit. DS9's first three Mirror Universe episodes were still rock solid. And with only two(-ish) pre-DSC Mirror Universe episodes I outright didn't like, I'd say that's a pretty good batting average.

Then Disco's Mirror Universe episodes knocked it out of the park. But that's entirely dependent on how much you like the combination of Discovery and the Mirror Universe. If you don't care for either, you're out of luck.

Really? I saw him in London last year and he looked very thin and frail in person to ME...but very energetic and happy.

Where do you get your "information"? Fuller originally meant for it to be an anthology, never a reboot. When the anthology concept was scrapped (VERY early) they landed on the prequel concept. If you have a source I'd love to see it, as long as it's not some blog with an unnamed "inside man".

The showrunners have said they want to test Picard's character as a man of incredible moral character by putting him in a situation where doing the right thing is difficult because he doesn't have a starship or Starfleet to call on. Having Riker and Troi at his beck and call would seem to run counter to that. I'm betting Starfleet is somehow complicit in what's going on, and if Riker and Troi are involved at all it will be against orders (and the Titan will be assigned well away from Picard so they can't physically intervene without alerting the conspiracy).

Given it's 18 years since Riker was given command of the Titan; either Riker's an Admiral at a desk, or retired as well.

Riker was a commander for 16 years so there is a good chance he may still be a captain. Especially if he got comfy and the Titan was given choice assignments.
